Avatar – The Way Of Water is expected to have a massive first day, crossing the 40 crore nett mark and possibly crossing the 45 crore nett mark, however a lot hinges on where the South circuits and Hindi mass belts land in the morning. The film has broken all South American records for Hollywood films, including Avengers: Endgame.

The stats pouring In from Nizam / Andhra are double, if not more than double, of Avengers Endgame. As it approaches the 10 crore nett mark in the Nizam / Andhra circuit, Avatar – The Way Of Water appears to be the first non-South film to do so. In terms of true collections, this figure is challenging for the majority of local films. Only huge budget films reach this level or above, whereas smaller budget films seldom reach 10 crore nett.

The situation is similar in Tamil Nadu, Mysore, Karnataka, and Kerala, though the endgame records will be broken by smaller margins.

According to preliminary calculations, the ratio of business coming from the South appears to be greater than that from Hindi markets.

The Hindi circuits have also done very well, but because of the record-breaking numbers from the South, they don’t look as good. However, even here, they appear to be edging past the figures of Dr Strange – Multiverse Of Madness, the biggest Hollywood film of the year so far, which opened due to the Marvel branding.

At the conclusion of the year, all South circuits may record new ALL-TIME RECORDS for Hollywood, while the Hindi circuits may see the best figures for the year for Hollywood. The film has made HISTORY in the South, as Avatar (2009) was a massive blockbuster there, and this picture has benefited from that film’s enormous goodwill.
