When the horror and comedy genres are combined, Hindi cinema shines. Films ranging from Stree (2018) to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) sparked a box office frenzy. Bhediya, a horror comedy starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, is set to hit theatres this Friday.

Amar Kaushik's film is one of the most anticipated of the year, and it has been making headlines since 2021. The horror comedy's release has been eagerly anticipated by fans. Surprisingly, the film competes with the box office smash Drishyam, which is on the verge of joining the 100-crore club.

Bhediya, which reportedly cost 60 crores, is expected to play on 2500-3000 screens in the domestic market. Advance bookings for the show have already begun, and it appears that bookings are gradually increasing as the release date approaches.

Since yesterday, occupancy in Varun Dhawan's film has increased marginally. Approximately half of the shows are filling quickly, and 8-10% of the shows will fill quickly.

Chennai

Despite the fact that there are only a few Bhediya shows here, nearly 25-30% of them are already booked, and it appears that the shows may run even longer.

Ahmedabad

The Horror comedy has a limited number of performances in the city, with only 4-6 percent of the performances booked.

Around 10-12% of shows in Bengaluru are almost full.

Hyderabad

Bhediya appears to be doing well in another southern city of Hyderabad. Approximately 14-16% of shows are quickly filling.

Bhediya appears to be underperforming significantly in Kolkata. According to advance booking, only about 6-8% of shows are nearly full. Even though pre-sales have been slow thus far, on-the-spot bookings are expected to increase ticket sales.

Based on advance bookings in these cities, the horror comedy is expected to earn around 2-3 Cr on opening day. After months of anticipation, the film will be released on November 25 in three languages: Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
