Richie Mehta

RICHIE MEHTA, the creator of DELHI CRIME, has finally managed to start shooting for his next series titled 'POACHER DIARIES' based on the crimes related to ELEPHANT POACHING in India. Co-produced by ALAN MCALEX, who recently left JAR PICTURES (Nil Battey Sannata, Gurgaon, Gangs Of Wasseypur etc) to start his own company - SUITABLE PICTURES LLP, this show narrates a spine-tingling crime story set in the jungles of Kerala, thereby highlighting the major lacuna in the enforcement of wildlife protection laws in India and how, despite stringent measures, elephant poaching continues unabated because of cover-ups by the very people who are supposed to protect wildlife

Starring ROSHAN MATTHEWS and DIBYENDU BHATTACHARYA in the leading roles, the show is currently being shot in DELHI which went on floors in EARLY 2022 in Jungles of KERALA for a 2023 release. The streaming platform has NOT been locked yet with talks ongoing between MEHTA, MCALEX and various OTT platforms

Other than that, MEHTA has also been signed to adapt and direct a show on 1984 BHOPAL GAS TRAGEDY for RSVP MOVIES, by adapting DOMINIQUE LAPIERRE and JAVIER MORO's 1997 Book - 'FIVE PAST MIDNIGHT IN BHOPAL: THE EPIC STORY OF WORLD's DEADLIEST INDUSTRIAL DISASTER', which focuses on the 1984 UNION CARBIDE Disaster i.e. a cloud of toxic gas escaped from the plant of American Pesticide company Union Carbide, located in the city of Bhopal, and killed as well as injured thousands of people. The show will go on floors in 2023, while he recently wrapped up his work as an Executive Producer on NETFLIX's most popular Crime Drama DELHI CRIME S2.
