Minnali Murali Director Basil Joseph to Direct Shaktimaan Trilogy

SONY PICTURES INDIA have contacted BASIL JOSEPH, who directed the cult Malayalam film 'MINNAL MURALI' to oversee the writing and direction of SHAKTIMAAN TRILOGY, to which the director is currently considering to accept the offer

'MINNAL MURALI', which was first SUPERHERO film made in MALYALAM, starring TOVINO THOMAS and GURU SOMASUNDARAM was recieved with appreciation from audience all over the world and NETFLIX had earlier announced the film to be turned into a FRANCHISE, and SONY PICTURES are of the opinion that BASIL is the right man to spearhead the TRILOGY based on the Iconic characte witnessed by Indian TV industry in the 90's.

The team spoke to several directors over the time, but they are more convinced of BASIL's potential to turn this TRILOGY into a gamechanger for Indian Cinema. Apart from that, the producers are keen to have RANVEER SINGH on board to play the role of SHAKTIMAAN and would initiate talks with him once BASIL officially comes on board as the Writer - Director for this trilogy and chalks out the First Screenplay Draft for the First film in this franchise.
