The Central Board of Film Certification has directed the makers of YRF's upcoming action thriller Pathaan to make some changes in light of the heated controversy over the movie's songs (CBFC). To clear up any confusion regarding the movie Pathaan, the CBFC examination committee had just received it for certification, according to CBFC Chairperson Prasoon Joshi.

Before submitting the amended edit of the film to the board, Joshi claimed that the CBFC committee advised the filmmakers to incorporate proposed alterations in the film, including the songs.

Joshi continued, saying that even though the board adhered to the law, it sought to strike the correct balance between the filmmakers' artistic expression and the sensibilities of a larger audience.

While the procedure is being properly followed and put into practice, I must once again emphasize how beautiful, intricate, and subtle our culture and faith are. And we need to watch out that it is not reduced to trivia, which detracts from the genuine and the truth," he said.

Joshi went on to say that it is crucial to maintain the audience's trust in creators and urged them to continue making efforts in that direction.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone play the key characters in the upcoming movie Pathaan, which will be released in January 2023.

However, the film has already gotten into some trouble. A penalty for the film was already in place due to Shah Rukh Khan's earlier statement. Besharam Rang, a song from the film, was recently released, however, it caused controversy. Many people criticized the song for Deepika's appearance in a saffron bikini and her passionate dance routines, with many right-wingers not holding back when calling the song "vulgar."

Many were enraged at Shah Rukh's green shirt in the song. Although the saffron bikini in the song drew criticism, Deepika wore four other different clothes in the song, with the saffron bikini appearing on screen for only 20 seconds total. Politicians like the speaker of the state legislature and the home minister for Madhya Pradesh, Narottam Mishra, condemned the song and demanded that the objectionable scenes be reshot.

After a five-year absence, SRK is back on the big screen with Pathaan. Pathaan, which is set in the YRF spy universe, will center on the titular RAW field agent.
