Romance! We all want more of it in our lives, as the term implies. We all experience love in our lives, thus we enjoy seeing romance in the movies as well.  Cinema has become inextricably linked to romance. Over the years, Indian films have explored this genre by producing some fantastic blockbuster films that have provided audiences with a delightful treat. The regional Marathi cinema has done the same. It has also produced a number of content-driven Romantic films in recent years, which have received widespread acclaim across India and in international film festivals. Other regional languages, such as Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, are creating high-quality Romance films.

Here are some of the best Marathi romantic movies that have received a lot of affection from the audience.

Muramba

A narrative of Alok and Indu, a young couple who had a nasty split. The core plot depicts the demise of their romance. It takes an unexpected turn when Alok's parents learn of the issue and, despite Alok's apathy, they both become involved in it in order to reconcile.

It's a contemporary Romantic-Drama-Comedy. In a subtle way, it also portrays bridging the gap between parents and a son. Special mention: Milind Jog's cinematography is amazing; he makes every picture appear gorgeous, as well as unique camera motions that have never been seen before in Marathi cinema.

Shala

A School-Romance, a tale of genuine adolescent love. "Joshi," a fourteen-year-old boy, has a crush on his classmate female "Shirodkar," and he wants to tell her about it. Joshi has three companions with him at all times, all of whom are going through the same love-like phase as him.

This film is given a delicate and charming treatment. Characters that were well-written and portrayed with sincerity by each of the actors. For an immature love storey, we see maturity in the direction and writing.

Mumbai Pune Mumbai

As the title suggests, the plot revolves around a young lady from Mumbai who travels to Pune to see a potential husband, as per her mother's wishes, and then returns to Mumbai. In the interim, something truly amazing happens. She meets a new person.

The screenplay is well-paced in this flick. As the characters travel from one location to the next, it becomes a roller coaster trip through the metropolis. It was recreated in Hindi as Mumbai Delhi Mumbai and is considered one of the best Marathi romantic films of all time.

Ti Sadhya Kay Karte?

"What is she doing these days?" This is the main plot of the movie. It's about Anurag alias Anya and Tanvi's love storey. Both are childhood buddies who grew up in the same colony and attended the same elementary school.

Anya's life is turned upside down when he starts recalling his childhood best friend and love, Tanvi, on the occasion of a batchmate reunion party that takes place after years. This film serves as a remembrance to each of us who has ever loved someone, with some beautiful dialogue and excellent acting.

Double Seat

It's about a recently married couple who find joy when riding double seat, as the title suggests. Living in a chawl in Mumbai with a middle-class family. Both of them appear to be sacrificing their privacy and romanticism.

When they both decide to move out of the house and into a new one without their parents, their lives take a turn. Writer Kshitij Patwardhan and Director Sameer Vidwans are the true protagonists of the film, as seen by their straightforward approach, language, and narrative.

Premachi Goshta

It revolves around a Mr. and a Miss. Mr. Satyaprakash and Miss. Savitri are their names. Their respective parents, like other traditional Marathi families, want them to meet and greet one other and finally marry in accordance with all conventions and procedures.

But. It's not easy to persuade today's young generation couple; they both want to be in a live-in relationship. The director has taken a unique approach to the storey, with each character breaking the fourth wall after a few scenes.

Unlike other rom-coms, we get to meet several unusual people, two of whom are diametrically opposed to one another.

Timepass

Just as we love to do it all the time, especially when we're teenagers, when it's easy to fall in love with someone, but that someone may be anyone!

Dagdu is a naughty, ill-mannered, bad-behaving young guy who fails all of his classes at college. He keeps doing the same thing, not taking it seriously, and eventually falls in love with Prajakta Lele, a major villain in Dagdu's life. But why is that?

Duniyadari

Chinmay adapted the storey into a full-fledged script, which was directed by Sanjay Jadhav, who was also a cinematographer. The storey revolves around Shreyas, a young child who has recently relocated to Pune and begun studying at SP college.

It is set in the 1970s and portrays the impression of Hindi cinema at the period. This film is first about friendship and camaraderie, as well as rivalry. However, it later develops into a love triangle. Shreyas and Meenu both adore Shirin, but Shirin is set to marry someone else.

Coffee Ani Barach Kahi

This duo of diametrically opposed characters eventually attracts one other and meets in the coffee shop. Both of them fall in love with one another. Will they, however, express their feelings to each other? Or who will be the first to admit it?

A simple, refreshing love storey set in a metropolis that is fairly modern and progressive.
