Vikram Vedha Flops. Is the Era Of South Movies Remakes Over In Bollywood?
Vikram Vedha hit the theatres on 30th September 2022. The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. Have you watched the film yet? Well, it is one of the amazing works. But the project is the 11th South Indian remake to flop in Bollywood. This makes us wonder if the era of South Indian remakes over in Bollywood?
Hrithik and Saif have showcased their talents really well in the film and we definately enjoyed them together on screen. Saif played the wise cope whereas Hrithik played the clever, Vedha. The dialogue delivery, action everything was superb. Then why do you think the film flopped. One point to note is that, it is a total copy of the South Indian version and there is no change at all.
Post the pandemic, this has been noticed that the Bollywood oriented audiences are now watching South Indian movies with subtitles on OTT platforms. And ofcourse, who would go to the theatres to watch the same film with just the Bollywood actors, right?
Earlier, the remakes used to do good because the majority of the audience didn't watch South Indian films and they used to watch it in the remake for the first time. This is a major deterrent for them to watch the Bollywood versions in the theatres. Bollywood fans now want to watch only big budget movies like Brahmashtra in the theatres. They prefer to watch small budget movies on OTT platform.
