If you have been keeping up with electronic music news, you would probably have heard of singer-songwriter, producer and DJ, Jesse Neo. The 23-year-old, originally from Australia, has been making headlines for his EDM tracks, with several nightclubs in his home country, the US and UK, playing his music.

Now, having worked as a songwriter in Los Angeles for several years, the Australian has been busy launching his new music platform, Gemtracks.

“Gemtrack started out as a passion project to automate my job as a songwriter,” Jesse explained. “I was constantly on the phone and email replying to clients about how they wanted the song to sound like, how payments should be arranged, and other mundane tasks.”

It was during these daunting times that the idea of automating the entire transaction using a website came to mind.

“I started listing all my unsold beats and backing tracks on Gemtracks, then within a few weeks, I was making around $599 a day,” the Australian revealed. “Then my friend, Milana Leybovich, whom I had worked with in the past, recommended I turn Gemtracks into a marketplace where anyone could sell beats and earn a stable stream of income.”

The reason for the high price is because once a track is sold, the master rights and copyrights will also go with it. Essentially, the buyer becomes the new owner and will be able to release the track to as many platform as they wish without having to worry about paying royalties.

Currently Gemtracks sells a variety of different beats, include pop, reggae, house and rock. There are also many subcategories too, such as acoustic guitar beats.

For about a year, only producers from the US, UK, Australia and Canada could sign up. However, the doors are now open to Indians.

“I just love Bollywood and all their amazing dance tracks,” Jesse exclaimed. “That is why I am inviting all the Indians with music production background to join the website. I am sure plenty of buyers from other parts of the world that have never heard of Bollywood music before would be blown away!”

In the next few months, Gemtracks will be launching a new feature on the website to hire freelance musicians as well as book recording studios. The goal for Gemtracks is to turn it into a platform where anyone in the music industry would be able to do business in.

For those starting out, there is also an educational section containing How-To guides, videos, tutorials and even databases. In fact, Rick Pena from AllStringed has offered some materials on playing guitars and other musical instruments.

If Gemtracks sounds like something that would benefit you, don’t be afraid to visit the website now by clicking here.
