Arjun Kapoor Recalls Parent's Traumatic Separation!!!
Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor is not shy to discuss his life, admitting what it took for him emotionally. On Raj Shamani’s podcast, the actor emotionally described his parents’ divorce, his mother, Mona Shourie, and how the experience has shaped him.
The Impact of a Childhood Torn Apart
Arjun’s parents got separated when he was only 10 years old. He says now that he realizes that it made him grow up early, despite that he hated the experience. He said: “I matured early. Most of the time, the man simply nodded and said things like: ‘I became a man very young. My father remained occupied with films such as ‘Prem’ and ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’, and we never had a normal father-son relationship. It taught me lessons in relationship and duty.”
Still, Arjun feels lucky that his parents maintained their courtesy, and as far as he recalls, they never argued like this. It was friendly, un motivations which destroyed our relationship; it was friendly and unhappy, which saved my heart, perhaps quite a few cuts. But it was a bittersweet experience and left silent emptiness like never having one’s father around to teach how to shave, for instance.
A Rebel’s Struggle with Education
The given divorce affected the academic life of Arjun on a large scale. He used to be an intelligent student, but he later dropped out and claimed studying was his form of protesting. I began to dislike school since everyone had questions about my family. Fortunately, there were my friends and family who stood by me, though none of them knew of my hardship.”
