Best Hollywood Movies Featuring Twins.

Hollywood filmmakers have been fascinated by twins since the silent period, and have made films about them. The roles are usually played by the same actor, but there have been films with different actors playing brother and sister roles.

Here is a ranking of the best twin films ever made, as voted on by movie fans. A few of these films feature twins that swap locations. But who is deserving of the top spot? 

1.  The Parent Trap

 The parent trap is the 199s American romantic comedy film co-written and directed by Nancy Meyers and produced and co-written by Charles Shyer.

The storey of identical twin sisters (Lohan) who were separated at birth and raised by their successful parents Nick Parker (Quaid) and Elizabeth James on different continents (Richardson). The girls meet by chance at an exclusive summer camp in Maine, unaware of each other's life. The girls formulate a plan to swap places and reunite their parents in the end.

The film is realistic and as it says it has romances mixed with some humour which keeps you engrossing and not boring.

2.  Big Business (1988)  with Bette Middler and Lily Tomlin

In this critically praised box office success, Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin star as two sets of identical twins who are mismatched at birth. Their paths cross forty years later in the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, and the result is uncontrolled chaos.

3.  Leaves of Grass 

Leaves of Grass is a light-hearted thriller. An Ivy League philosophy professor (Norton) is enticed back to his hometown by his twin brother (also Norton) for a doomed plot against a local drug lord (Dreyfuss). The plot twists and the result is a film that keeps you delightfully off-balance: it's amusing and unnerving all at once.

4.  The prestige 

An illusion is gone wrong pits two 19th-century magicians, Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) and Rupert Angier (Hugh Jackman), against each other in a bitter battle for supremacy. Terrible consequences loom when the pair escalate their feud, each seeking not just to outwit -- but to destroy -- the other man.

The film is never less than engaging, though considering that the title The Prestige refers to the moment in a magic act that gives it its "wow" factor, it's kind of a shame that the ultimate "reveal" in the movie is a little too tricky for its good.

5.  The legend 

The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins is a 2015 French-British crime thriller film directed by Brian Helgeland and adapted from John Pearson's book The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins. Ronald and Reginald Kray, identical twin gangsters, terrorise London in the 1960s. As a double vehicle for a fantastic actor, it is worth watching.

6.  Stuck on you 

Bob and Walt Tenor are identical twin brothers who share not only a love of life but also a liver. Being conjoined twins isn't a hindrance for them because of their ability to work together. However, when Walt's visions of acting on film collide with Bob's shyness, they all begin to fall out. This isn't helpful when Bob's Internet girl arrives in town, oblivious to their handicap, and Walt acquires his own. 

It is a satire on Hollywood hypocrisy, and is, without doubt, the (Farrelly) brothers' finest and most subversive film to date.
