Kader Khan is a name that demands no descriptions, definitions, criticism, or condemnation, only love and admiration for his contribution to Indian cinema. He began his career as a professor of civil engineering but evolved into a legend who left us with his words, his acting, and his warm and kind gestures toward everyone.

He had a spark of proving the best of himself in everything he did, from acting to writing. He was known as the best actor in a comedic role, and he received numerous awards and nominations. 

Kader Khan, an Afghan-born Indian Canadian film actor, screenwriter, comedian, and film producer was born on October 22, 1937, and died on December 31, 2018. He appeared in 300 films as an actor, with his first film, Daag, starring Rajesh Khanna, in which he played a prosecuting attorney, being released in 1973.

 Apart from being a versatile actor, he was also a gifted writer whose realistic and authentic words are still remembered and appreciated today.

He started his writing journey from Bollywood movies from the period of 1970s to the 1990s wrote dialogues for around 200 films. Khan was popularized for working with other great stars like Rajesh Khanna, Jeetendra, Feroz Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Amitabh Bachchan, and who can forget Govinda. 

Kadar Khan was an important part of making the NO 1 films of David Dhawan. Govinda and Kader Khan duo was loved for their acting expression and most importantly their comedy timings. Kadar khan wrote the dialogues of some of these films and acted in them proving how he was worth it of all.   

 “Yeh duniya jhoot ke paiyon par chalne waali woh gaadi hai ... jis mein petrol ki jagah    gareebon ke armaan jalte hai” and “Bahar jinki hoti hai puja ... andhar se woh aadmi hota hai   duja” – Aunty no 1

“Duniya mera ghar hai, bus stand mera adda hai, jab mann kare aa jana, Raju mera naam hai ... aur pyar se log mujhe bulate hain ... coolie no. 1” – Coolie no 1

Kader was critically acclaimed for his roles in Do Aur Do Paanch (1980), Waqt Ki Deewar (1981), Teesri Aankh (1982), Himmatwala (1983) and Mera Faisla (1984). He starred in blockbuster films including Coolie No. 1 (1995), Judwaa (1997), Gharwali Baharwali (1998), Haseena Maan Jayengi (1999) and Joru Ka Ghulam (2000). Kader garnered immense appreciation for Yeh Hai Jalwa (2002), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Lucky: No Time for Love (2005) and Desh Drohi (2008). His recent films include Dil Bhi Khaali Jeb Bhi Khaali (2014) and Ungli (2014), Tevar (2015). Kader was last seen in the films Hogaya Dimaagh Ka Dahi (2015) and Masti Nahi Sasti (2017)

This dialogue, paired with Rajesh Khanna’s acting, earned the film a lot of praises and then begun the rise of Kader Khan the screenwriter.

He wrote dialogues for the already superstar Amitabh Bachchan and helped him to become a megastar.

“Jindagi mein aadmi doich time inta jaldi bhagta hai – Olympic ka race ho ya polis ka case ho” – Amar Akbar Anthony

“Har chor apni maut marta nahi ... maara jaata hai” – Mr. Natwarlal

“Kisi bhi achchi cheez ko mashoor hone mein waqt lagta hai” – Suhaag

“Apun kutte ki woh dum hai joh barah baras nalli mein daalke rakho ... nalli tedhi ho jayegi ... apun seedha nahi hoga” and “Apun jiske darwaze pe paon rakhta hai na ... uske aakha department ka darwaza band ho jaata hai” – Laawaris

“Tere liye toh maine nark ke darwaze bhi bandh kar diye kamine” – Yaarana

“Daru peene se liver kharab ho jaata hai” – Satte Pe Satta

“Aaisi maut marenge ... ki ek baar maut ko bhi paseena aa jayega” and “Bachpan ki buri aadatein aur buri baatein insaan ko bura bana deti hai” – Hum

“Sawaal jis zabaan mein kiya jaye ... jawaab us hi zabaan mein dena chahiye” and “Aaj shaam che bajhe maut ke saath apna appointment hai” – Agneepath

“Pyar hum dono ne kiya ... magar tadapna sirf mere naseeb mein  aaya” – Naseeb

He left some impactful and powerful dialogues of Rekha and Kabir Bedi’s Film ‘ Khoon Bhari Maang’

“Ladki ka model ho ya gadi ka…waqt ke saath dono purani ho jati hai”.

He also gave dialogues to Akshay Kumar from ‘ Mai Khiladi Tu Anari’ 

‘ Hum sirf ek take milte hai, sirf ek take… aur agar uss ek take mein humse koi galti ho jati hai…. toh maut ke samnse zindagi ghutne take deti hai……

Amir Khan film Sarfarosh also had a chance of delivering Kadar Khan’s written dialogue.

“Dawa bhi kaam na aaye, koi dua na lage…. Mera khudka kisko pyar ki haw ana lage”. This dialogue is personally my favourite it's mind-blowing!

Dukh jab hamari kahani sunta hai toh khud dukh ko dukh hota hai – Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri.

Agar insaan dukh se dosti karle ... toh phir zindagi mein kabhi usko sukh ki tamanna hi nahi rahegi – Jaisi Karni waisi Bharni.
Daulat ka kya hai, woh toh aati jati rehti hai ... magar beti toh ghar ki izzat hai ... aur izzat ek baar chali jaye toh woh laut kar vapis nahi aaya karti – Dulhe Raja.
Duniya mein aadmi ki nahi ... uske kapdon ki, uske dhan ki kadar hoti hai – Hero NO 1 
Jis tarah parayi biwi apne ghar mein laane se apni nahi ho jaati na ... ussi tarah paraya music apne desh mein bajane se apna nahi ho jaata hai – Biwi Ho Toh Aisi
