The Indian box office was quiet on Tuesday. Bholaa, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, was the most popular Hindi film once again, grossing over Rs 1.15 crores on day 13. Gumraah, starring
Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal, earned roughly Rs 45 lakhs on day 5, and these figures do not bode well. They are less expensive than the two Hollywood imports, The Pope's Exorcist and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. A Hollywood film topping the weekly charts is no longer the outlier it once was.
Bholaa's India lifetime earnings are expected to be in the range of Rs 80-85 crores net.
Bholaa is doing well, but the decline on weekdays has hampered the film's chances of entering the coveted Rs 100 crore nett India club. In India, the film is progressively approaching a lifetime total of Rs 80-85 crores nett. The worldwide gross will be little more than Rs 100 crores, making it the third Hindi original to do so this year, behind Pathaan and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. It is also the highest-grossing remake this year, but that isn't much of an accomplishment given that the other films were all flatly rejected.

Gumraah, yet another remake, is doing poorly at the box office. The film generated a weekend gross of less than Rs 4 crores and a five-day total of slightly less than Rs 5 crores.
The film's trend predicts a lifetime total of roughly Rs 8 crores, which is a pitiful figure. The film suffers as a result of the remake tag and, of course, a lack of publicity. The film's material isn't horrible, but when you can't generate enough interest in the picture, its fate is sealed.

In India, the two new Hollywood films are more popular than Gumraah.

Pope's Exorcist and The Super Mario Bros Movie are both doing well and will at the very least cross the Rs 10 crore nett India threshold. The Super Mario Bros. Movie is breaking records at the global box office and is on its way to a lifetime total of more than a billion dollars. The Pope's Exorcist is yet to be released in its main markets, although it is predicted to perform well.
There will be no notable releases the next week, giving the films running still another week without competition.
