Bhoothnath is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language supernatural-comedy film that has been written and directed by Vivek Sharma It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla, Aman Siddiqui, Priyanshu Chatterjee, and Rajpal Yadav; while Sharma also cast Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo appearance. This film is a screen adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s short story that was published in 1887 under the title of ‘The Canter ville Ghost’.
The film “Bhoothnath” was released on 9 May 2008 and most of the critics given positive response. It was positively received by viewers and loved by children and thus was a hit at the theatrical release. The main actors were received warm acclaim by the audience as well as critics’ appreciation for their work. The film has a sequel called Bhoothnath Returns which was written and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, and the film was released on 11 April 2014
The film also induced a plenty of positive reviews from the critics mostly. Currently, on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie has 60% approval rating from the audience, and five reviews with 6/10. 25/10. In the box office, the movie received a poor opening, however it collected in between ₹ 60–€ 68 million (US $ 810,000) in total through its theatrical exhibitions and was considered as the semi-hit by the box office India.
