Bodybuilding GOAT Ronnie Coleman Reveals His Bicep Size

Ronnie Coleman - When Biceps Became a Legend in His Day and Inspirer of Phil Heath
Ronnie Coleman was the absolute king of bodybuilders, reigning for eight years straight as Mr. Olympia, from 1998 to 2005. More than anything else, he is known for his huge and well-defined physique and continues to elicit admiration and curiosity among fans even today. One of the questions that arise in minds related to Coleman is how big his biceps are during his prime.
Coleman Bicep Measurement Exposed
In terms of competition weights, Coleman weighed close to 300 pounds. Actually, he sported massive arms and legs-and muscle everywhere else. But, it was his biceps-indeed, a symbol of Coleman's persona.
An Instagram user, @jxt_umair_, once asked him, “Bicep size in your prime?” In response, Coleman reflected on the time he first learned the exact measurement of his biceps.
“My bicep size in my prime was about 24 inches. I know this because Lenda Murray herself measured them when I guest posed at her show. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have known because I was never really interested in bicep size—but y’all are.”
Coleman was invited as a guest poser to Lenda Murray’s annual bodybuilding event in Norfolk, Virginia, in 2009. A close friend and an eight-time Ms. Olympia champion, Murray personally measured his biceps, revealing just how massive they were.
A Humorous Moment with Phil Heath
Seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath also shared an amusing memory involving Coleman’s unbelievable arm size.
“I remember one time we were at a club, and we made a joke. We were like, ‘Let’s see if Ronnie Coleman’s arms are bigger than the waitress’s waist.’”
At first, the waitress was confident about her waist size, but Heath still went ahead with the comparison. To everyone’s surprise—but not really—Coleman’s biceps were actually larger than her waist. As part of the fun bet, the waitress ended up owing them a drink after the unexpected result.
How a Picture of Ronnie Coleman Inspired Phil Heath’s Career
Ronnie Coleman remains a massive inspiration in the bodybuilding world, and Phil Heath is among those who credit him for their career paths.
During a workout session, Coleman once asked Heath how he first got into professional bodybuilding. Heath’s response surprised him.
Heath recalled a moment from his college programming class, where the student sitting next to him had a wallpaper of Ronnie Coleman on his computer screen. This was around 2002 or 2003, and Heath was in awe of Coleman’s incredible physique.
Curious, Heath asked his classmate about the image, leading to a conversation that ultimately sparked his journey into professional bodybuilding. That single moment of admiration set him on the path to becoming a seven-time Mr. Olympia champion.
