It was included in the Guinness World Records as its 1000th episode was aired live in a single 23-minute continuous shot—a first in Indian television.

Main Cast and Characters

The series was created, directed, and produced by Thirumurugan, who also played the lead role of Gopikrishnan (Gopi), a principled tailor and second son of Chokkalingam. Gopi’s journey of family values and emotional strength formed the backbone of the serial.

Srithika Saneesh played Malarkodi (Malar), Gopi’s wife, whose character evolved into one of the most admired in the show.

T. S. B. K. Mouli enacted Chokkalingam, the renowned Nadaswaram player and patriarch of the family. Poovilangu Mohan enacted his brother Mayilvahanam, and the complex family relationships added depth to the storyline.
