Deadpool2 Review

Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool was an instant hit. Is the sequel as good as the first installment of this Marvel franchise? Read our review to find out.
The movie starts off a two years after the first movie ended. Deadpool(Ryan Reynolds) is fighting the bad guys & living a happy domestic life with his gf – Vanessa(Morena Baccarin). Just when they think of starting a family together, tragedy strikes. Deadpool blames himself for it & even tries to commit suicide. X-Man Colossus takes him under his wing, but Deadpool’s antics land him behind bars. he is imprisoned along with Russell – an overweight & ill tempered mutant. Cable(Josh Brolin) a mutant from the future, tries to kill Russell, but is saved by Deadpool. In the ensuing fight, Deadpool manages to escape from prison.

Deadpool2 is one of the most funniest movies from the Marvel Universe. Almost every other line is a joke. The jokes are funny & keep you smiling throughout. Ryan Reynolds owns the character. His comic timing is excellent. Josh Brolin is superb as Cable. The casting agents have done a good job of choosing the best supporting cast possible. In true Deadpool style comedy, the characters take potshots at other iconic movies & characters. Deadpool makes jokes even in tragic situations. Some rather unknown Marvel characters like Juggernaut too make an appearance. Dopinder – Indian cabbie will strike a chord among Indian audiences. His depiction may seem racist, but we didn’t mind it.
The movie does start off on a not so gripping note. The first 20-25 mins weren’t that good. But as the story progressed we were totally glued to the screen. The movie contains a lot of profanities & adult jokes, which makes it unsuitable for family audiences in India.
The movie is even better than the iconic first installment. Do watch it in a theatre near you with your friends & preferably not family.
