Doraemon, the Japanese cartoon series, is loved by people of all ages across the world. It was created by Fujiko F. Fujio and follows the adventures of a robotic cat from the future with a boy named Nobita. Below are some of the main characters in the series, who all shape the plot.

Doraemon is the central character of the series. He is a blue robotic cat that was sent from the 22nd century to help Nobita. Doraemon, being a robotic cat, is scared of mice, and he does not have ears because he lost them in an accident before being sent "back", he has a magic pocket and that has gadgets that come from the future. He usually gives Nobita a gadget when he is in a situation and he usually does not care when his gadgets have weird effects.

2. Nobita Nobi 
Nobita is a clumsy, lazy, and unlucky boy who depends on Doraemon's gadgets to "get by" in school and throughout life. While he manifests some kind acts and good-heartedness, there are issues he faces that he is in "unique" trouble due to the inability to motivate himself and daydream too freely.

3. Shizuka Minamoto
Shizuka is Nobita's kind and nice female friend. She plays piano and has a love for taking baths. She is the voice of reason in the group most of the time and is the girl Nobita hopes to marry one day.

4. Takeshi Gouda (Gian)
Gian is the local bully known for his loud singing and short temper. He regularly makes others go when he is performing his concerts or lends him belongings. Although he can take a hard stance, he does have a caring aspect that he shows mainly when his friends are in jeopardy.

5. Suneo Honekawa
Suneo is the rich homesick boy who loves bringing out his toys and showing off his vacations. He is usually with Gian, picking on Nobita, but does go on many of the adventures with the gang. He is arrogant but shows signs of insecurities and a caring side.

6. Dorami
Dorami is Doraemon's younger sister. She is smarter and more advanced than Doraemon and shows up when he is away. She is very cheerful, caring, and particularly looks after Nobita's welfare.
