Anushka and Sakshi's relationship predates that of Mahi (MS Dhoni) and Virat Kohli. Colonel (Retd) Ajay Kumar, the father of Anushka Sharma, served in the Indian Army. They relocated a lot when the actress was younger. Anushka Sharma said in 2013 at a launch event that she reconnected with Sakshi Singh Dhoni after a long separation. The actress claimed that she remembers staying in the same region when Sakshi informed her about her trip to Assam. Both of them attended St. Mary's School, Margherita, while they were in Assam. They both realised then that they attended the same school and had formerly been classmates.

Anushka also said that she later discovered an old photograph of Sakshi Dhoni, according to a report. Sakshi looked gorgeous in her fairy-themed outfit. Anushka Sharma, on the other hand, dressed in a ghagra to resemble her idol Madhuri Dixit. Anushka struggled after finishing school to find fame as an actor. She continued to work in Indian film. For those who are unaware, Sakshi Dhoni and Mahendra Singh Dhoni first met while the latter was working as a receptionist in a hotel in Kolkata. Their chance encounter was unavoidable. However, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli were introduced at a 2013 photo shoot for an advertisement commercial. Virat admitted in an interview that he was quite anxious when he learned that he would be filming with the actress Anushka.
