The story begins in December 2027, some years after the Covid-19 pandemic. A highly anticipated tourism event is beginning at Port Blair. The purpose is to bring in revenue and improve employment opportunities to the island state.

In the series "Kaala Paani," during the conclusion of Season 1, Jyostna successfully reconnected Kaddu with her father, Santosh. His motivation to live was primarily driven by Kaddu after the tragic loss of his wife and child. When Jyostna informed Santosh that Kaddu was infected and couldn't travel to Huxley Island for treatment, he desperately wanted her to be treated there. However, Jyostna disagreed with his choice, and a heated argument ensued. Santosh, driven by his determination to save his daughter, resorted to drastic measures, including threatening Jyostna's life.

Eventually, Santosh and Kaddu board a ship to the private island, despite the risk it poses to others due to Kaddu's infection. Meanwhile, Ritu takes on the responsibility of searching for a cure on the islands, as she is believed to be the only one who can find it. The Orakas surround the police squad following Chiru and Enmae to their settlement, revealing a trap orchestrated by the Oraka tribe. This puts the city's inhabitants in a precarious situation, as the police lose their only chance to contain the illness with the Orakas killed.

Additionally, a plant called Andamani Echinacea holds the key to a potential cure, and its seeds were unknowingly brought to school by Vinayak, Jyostna's childhood friend. Parvathy, Vinayak's mother, had a connection with the Orakas, which unknowingly played a vital role in the story. Kaddu took some of the plant's leaves, naming it Jyostna in honor of her favorite teacher. The series ends with uncertainty, leaving viewers eager to watch Season 2 to find out how these intricate storylines will unfold.

Directors Sameer Saxena and Amit Golani effectively establish the physical environment, including dockyards, waterways, expansive oceans, and dense vegetation. However, they sometimes struggle to convey the sheer vastness and isolation of the islands, as well as the urgency and chaos of the situation. The outdoor scenes, especially those featuring the untamed wilderness and the casting of the Orakas, provide the most immersive experiences for the viewers.
