Kabir Khan & Saket Chaudhary To Co-Direct 'IC 814' Based On Kandahar Hijacking

The producers at MATCHBOX PICTURES (Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil) have brought KABIR KHAN on board to co-direct a NETFLIX show with SAKET CHAUDHARY (Hindi Medium, Pyaar Ke Side Effects) which will be based on KANDAHAR HIJACKING titled 'IC 814'.
IC 814 will be an official adaptation of flight pilot CAPTAIN DEVI SHARAN's book titled 'FLIGHT INTO FEAR' which will narrate the detailed account of this hostage crisis executed by a Pakistani Terrorist Group in 1999 which kept India awake for Seven Nights and led to people and media questioning failure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Goverment to handle this crisis.
The series, written by TRISHANT SRIVASTAVA who wrote JAMTAARA for Netflix, will explore everything related to hijacking of INDIAN AIRLINES Flight IC -814 that forced Indian Government to release THREE ISLAMIC TERRORISTS to secure lives of 176 Passengers and Crew of the flight. The show will cover incidents related to how terrorists breached the Security checks, hijacked the plane and forced Indian Government to fulfill their demands. It's been said that the events involved in negotiations between hijackers and Crisis management group as well as group's inability to successfully manage this rescue operation would be key events of this show
SAKET and TRISHANT are currently on the verge of locking final draft of this show and will be joined by KABIR in January post the release of 83 and the show will go on floors in MID 2022.
KABIR KHAN has already locked RANVEER SINGH for his next directorial other than this show, which will be based on story of a SMALL TOWN UNDERDOG played by Ranveer and will go on floors in END 2022 after Kabir wraps up IC-814.
MATCHBOX PICTURES, are also set to release RAJKUMMAR RAO starrer 'MONICA, OH MY DARLING' on Netflix in 2022 and is working on Hindi Remakes of 2 Hungarian films as well as adaptation of JIGNA VORA's 'Behind Bars In Byculla' as a web series.
