Opening Day Collection:
Internationally, RRR was released worldwide on 25 March 2022 after various postponements due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. The movie began with a lot of fervor and witnessed phenomenal occupancy in its opening day. With the brand name of Rajamouli along with the list of an impressive star cast, RRR collected nearly ₹223 crores worldwide on its opening day that broke the records as one of the highest first-day collections in Indian film history.
Box Office Collection
This strength went well into the following weeks of the movie. In the first three days, RRR had crossed ₹500 crores worldwide, a testimony to its easy-going acceptance in India and other parts of the world. The film had comfortably surpassed the mark of ₹700 crores at the global box office within the first week.
While its lifetime box office gross stands as an unbelievable ₹1,200 crore worldwide, RRR has apparently been one of the top-grossing Indian films of all time. The film did alright in home territories because it had done outstandingly well in the domestic markets, especially in the Telugu-speaking regions since it was run so long in the theatres. The Hindi version did quite well here as well. North India contributed more than ₹270 crore to the collection.
International Success
RRR turned out to be a huge overseas success, especially in markets such as North America, the Middle East, Japan, and the UK. The film can collect over ₹250 crore from overseas. In the USA alone, it broke quite a few records for an Indian film and managed to collect more than $14 million; it was even released with special shows and gathered a huge fan base .
Critical Analysis
Acclaimed movie that fetches excellent reviews from most, if not all, sectors-the filmmakers as well as viewers. Most of those talks have been regarding a visual extravaganza, high-octane action, and scintillating performances by N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan. Grand movie with some emotional strands that really keep the audiences glued to their seats. Technically as well, Cinematography, Special Effects, and that landmark soundtrack composed by M. M. Keeravani received great accolades.
Awards and Recognition
Besides breaking records with its collections at the box office, RRR was receiving more accolades in other countries by being screened in many international film festivals and garnering a lot of appreciation with its bold storyline. More interestingly, is that the song "Naatu Naatu" won Best Original Song in the 95th Academy Awards in 2023. The nominations the film received include Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards, some of which are quite amazing.

Hit or Flop?
RRR is a gigantic affair in terms of cost estimated at around ₹550 crore. But international collections have taken it to over ₹1,200 crore, which makes it a big block buster. For, to start with, the film has mopped up a profit beyond its cost, and most importantly, higher than its actual production cost, which technically makes it a bigg bang blockbuster.
RRR in Indian Cinema is in itself a behemoth of Indian cinema; its box office position followed with critical acclaim and global appreciation galvanized its stand as an institution in history. The epic action sequence, an engaging and riveting storyline, and outstanding performances made RRR more or less an example of a social and cultural phenomenon. It had grossed more than ₹1,200 crore worldwide, making it one of the commercially most successful Indian films.
