The release of "Godzilla Minus One" in India is experiencing considerable financial and logistical challenges. Despite the film's worldwide popularity, which includes an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, it may not be shown in Indian theaters.

The main issue concerns financial disagreements between the film's distributors and Indian cinema chains such as PVR Inox Pictures. The distributors requested a bigger income share, assuming that the film would only appeal to a limited audience in India. The theater chains were unwilling to change their regular revenue-sharing arrangements to satisfy this request.

Furthermore, international films in India have extra hurdles, such as the Virtual Print Fee (VPF), which is not charged for Hollywood films but is levied on other foreign films. This price, combined with disputed revenue-sharing agreements, hampers the distribution of "Godzilla Minus One" in India. These financial and logistical obstacles illustrate the larger difficulties faced by overseas filmmakers attempting to access the Indian market.
