Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar fame actress Kiran Javeri Bhatia, who turned producer with films like Motichoor Chaknachoor and unreleased Bole Chudiyan has now turned writer with Haveli Mein Hungama. However, the film was announced back in 2019 along with the slate of films under her banner but none of the films took off.

A source close to Kiran reveals, “Haveli Mein Hungama is a laugh riot that revolves around two conservative Marwari families. The film is to be directed by Navnit Saini.”

“The makers are thinking to cast Parineeti Chopra. She was her first choice but unfortunately things didn’t work out and they couldn’t approach her for reasons best known to them. The second choice for the female lead was Sonakshi Sinha but apparently the actress has turned down the film. The reason being she has already done such ensemble comic capers,” the source adds.

“The male lead of the film hasn’t been finalised yet as makers are keen to rope in the female lead foremost as she is the main protagonist and has a bigger screen space than the male counter part,” the source further informs.

Sonakshi Sinha was last seen in a horror-comedy Kakuda that saw a digital release while she is awaiting the release of Nikita Roy that also stars Paresh Rawal, Arjun Rampal, Suhail Nayyar and helmed by Sonakshi’s brother Kussh Sinha.

On the other hand, Parineeti was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila alongside Diljit Dosanjh. The film was based on the life of a Punjabi folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was shot dead at the age of 27. It was also learned that for Chamkila, she stepped out of Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s much celebrated film Animal. She was even replaced by Wamiqa Gabbi in soon-to-be-released film Bhool Chuk Maaf.

Be it Sonakshi or Parineeti, seems like Haveli Mein Hungama isn’t taking off anytime soon. It is interesting to see as to who will be face of the film.
