Randeep Hooda’s Sequel To Laal Rang In Trouble Due To No Investors?

Randeep Hooda, who is currently basking in the success of his latest film Jaat has been looking forward to beginning the sequel of the 2016 released film Laal Rang for a long time but it seems destiny has some other plans in store for the actor. 

 

Directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal of Youngistaan fame, Laal Rang was shot in Karnal and also starred Akshay Oberoi, Pia Bajpiee, and Meenakshi Dixit in the lead roles. The film was a semi-hit and later became a cult film on satellite. The film is based on mafia groups, who runs the network of blood theft.

 

In January 2023, the actor took to his social media and announced the sequel of the film titled Lang Rang 2. Even the director took to his social media to confirm the sequel. The actor-director duo even revealed the first look poster of the film.

 

The film is about the rivalry between two blood mafia gangs. The second part is considered to be the forward story, where the first part ended.

 

An industry source reveals, “Director Syed Ahmad Afzal is ready with the final draft, and Randeep has also greenlit the project, but the two are struggling to get the investors to fund the sequel.” 

 

“It was also learned that Randeep gave his nod to co-produce the film along with his talent manager, Panchali, who runs her own production company, but still the project couldn’t take off due to insufficient funding,” the source adds.

 

The sequel also stars Akshay Oberoi and Pia Bajpiee. Syed Ahmad Afzal also helmed films like Baaraat Company that starred Sandeepa Dhar, Anuritta K Jha, and OTT series Shikha Mandal that starred Gulshan Devaiah and Gauahar Khan in the primary roles.
