Neha crossed paths with Megha Deshpande at Orbit Mall in Indore, where she became enticed by Megha's valuable jewelry. Under the guise of a job opportunity, Neha obtained Megha's address and phone number.

Within a span of two days, Neha devised a plan to rob and brutally murder the Deshpande family at Srinagar House in Indore. In June 2011, Neha, along with two accomplices, entered the Deshpande residence and mercilessly killed three generations of women: Ashlesha Deshpande (21), Megha (42), and Rohini Phadke (70), as documented by the police.

The method employed in this triple murder differed from that of the Kacha Baniyan gang but was equally gruesome. According to police reports, the perpetrators used firearms and multiple stabbings to execute their heinous act.

Neha Verma's motive behind the triple murder was her yearning to settle down with her boyfriend and indulge in a luxurious lifestyle. The allure of comfort and opulence served as the driving force behind this tragic event.

In 2011, Neha Verma became the first woman in the state to receive a capital punishment sentence. Furthermore, all the accused involved in the crime were given the death penalty.
