Reason Why Poonam Dhillon Had An Extra-Marital Affair

Poonam Dhillion is not only one of the most beautiful and resplendent actresses of Bollywood industry, but also one of the most misunderstood actresses. Her married life and several failed love affairs prove to be so. Poonam has flourished successfully in the areas of theatre, TV and politics as a person.

The actress saw a watershed moment in her life when she won the ‘Miss Young India Crown’. She rose to fame after that. Her debut movie was ‘Trishul’ and her latest movie was, ‘Double Di Trouble’. In all, Poonam Dhillion has worked in 80 movies altogether in the Bollywood industry. One of the most successful and famous movies which was a landmark for the actress was Ramesh Talwar’s ‘Noorie’.

She was equally known and famous for her love affairs with certain bigwigs of the movie industry. She was rumoured to be romantically associated with Yash Chopra, but either did not give the rumours the time of the day. Ramesh Talwar also had feelings for her, but the actress considered him only a good friend. In the 1980s, Poonam fell head over heels for Raj Sippy who was already a married man. Soon, her love affair became the talk of the town. However, Raj Sippy did not want to leave his family for her and Poonam refused to be his mistress forever.

The entailing years proved to be very disconcerting for Poonam as her break up with Raj was followed by the death of her father. However, as it is said, there is always light on the other side of the tunnel, Poonam soon met her husband-to-be, Ashok Thakeria.

Ashok Thakeria, an Indian film producer, saw Poonam in a farmhouse during Holi celebrations, where he caught the actress by surprise by pouring a bucket of water on her while she was mourning for her father. Although Poonam was caught in consternation, she was moved by this gesture and soon she decided to marry him. They had a son and a daughter.

In 1994, Poonam discovered that Ashok had an extramarital affair with someone, which led their marriage to asunder. Perhaps, to get back at him, Poonam indulged into an extramarital affair herself. Soon the couple filed for a divorce, and Poonam received the custody of the children.
