‘Save The Tigers 2’—the sequel to the much-loved comedy drama Save The Tigers (2023)—returns with more laughs, drama, and chaos. Created by Mahi V Raghav and Pradeep Advaitham, the show continues to explore the hilariously complicated lives of three husbands—Ganta Ravi (Priyadarshi Pulikonda), Vikram (Chaitanya Krishna), and Rahul (Abhinav Gomatam)—and their respective wives. This 7-episode series, streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar, runs for about 190 minutes and is packed with relatable domestic squabbles, comedy, and a dash of emotional depth.
Plot Summary
Season 1 left viewers on a cliffhanger with the husbands being accused of kidnapping actress Hamsalekha (Seerat Kapoor). Season 2 picks up right there, with the trio enduring comical custodial punishment—until Hamsalekha, who had merely passed out after a wild night, clears the air and secures their release.
What follows is a series of quirky, often chaotic events involving the three couples. Their wives seek help from counsellor Spandana (Satya Krishna), and Ravi dreams of buying a house in a posh gated community after an MLA offers him a corporator ticket. Simultaneously, Rekha (Deviyani Sharma) contemplates giving up legal practice, while Rahul finds himself in a web of love mess with Harika's arrival on the scene in the form of Darshana Banik. These issues bring forth chuckle-worthy and sensible moments and highlight modern relationships, expectations, and family.
Performances
Priyadarshi Pulikonda stands out with his side-splitting performance through off-the-cuff Telangana slang and impeccable timing. Chaitanya Krishna's underplay and Abhinav Gomatam's natural act join hands to make the trio great. They have good chemistry, and their support works well for the series.
Of the ladies in the cast, Jordar Sujatha, Deviyani Sharma, and Pavani Gangireddy fit into their roles without effort. Seerat Kapoor leaves her presence felt in her cameo role as Hamsalekha. Gangavva, Darshana Banik, Aarthi Ganeshkar, and Rohini (in the bubbly maid role) add flavor to the cast ensemble with their cameos.
Direction & Technical Aspects
Series producer Arun Kothapally treats the show with kid gloves, testing various types of humour to create novelty. Producers—naturally, there's Mahi V Raghav—put the art forms of filmmaking into practice on the tele format, striking a balanced mix of comedy and content.
The cinematography by SV Vishweshwar and the background score by Ajay Arasada complement the tone of the series. Editor Shravan Katikaneni ensures smooth pacing, while Kiran Mamidi’s art direction sticks to the series’ grounded aesthetics.
Highlights
- Stellar performances from the lead trio
- Humour blended with emotion
- Relatable, well-written scenarios
- High entertainment value
Drawbacks
- The narrative gets a bit loud and over-the-top in parts
Final Verdict
Save The Tigers 2 remains grounded with a blend of clever scriptwriting, situational humour, and realistic acting. Though at times it is loud where subtlety might be more advisable, the emotion and the sense of humour sustain you. It is a satisfying sequel that will easily appeal to family audiences searching for light content.
