Shahid Kapoor Will Play Two Roles In Anees Bazmee's Comedy

Dil Raju will produce the comedy escapade starring Shahid Kapoor, which, contrary to popular belief, is an original concept created by Anees Bazmee.

A report stated in November 2022 that Shahid Kapoor and Anees Bazmee are in talks for a one-of-a-kind big ticket comedic entertainer. For the last four months, the trio has been in talks about making this film, and things are looking up. We can now officially reveal that Shahid Kapoor will appear in the first double role comedy of his career if everything goes as planned.

Shahid Kapoor enjoys double roles in comedies.

"Shahid Kapoor is a lover of double role comedygenre and is delighted to begin on a new journey with Anees Bazmee, who through his career has penned countless classics in this arena. "Shahid and Anees have been debating the screenplay, and a final narration is expected by the end of this month," said a source close to the process, adding that the paperwork will be completed by March.

"Anees and Shahid hope to begin filming in June/July of this year. "By then, Shahid would have finished filming for his yet-untitled project with Maddock and the Siddharth Roy Kapur production, Mumbai Police, which is the official remake of Malayalam classic, Mumbai Police," the insider added. Aside from being a classic Anees Bazmee comedy, the yet-untitled escapade will include action and music. "It's a multi-genre picture with humour at its core. The genre is similar to Ready, but this time it has a dual duty," the person explained.

The team is in talks with an A-List Female Lead.

Some of the actresses are being approached about playing the female lead alongside the narrations. "The production team is eager to cast an A-list actress in the picture. In fact, they are already in discussions with two of today's leading actresses. "The female lead will also be cast before the end of this month," the source stated.

Dil Raju will produce the hilarious adventure, which, contrary to popular belief, is an original concept created by Anees Bazmee. It would be Anees' first work with Shahid Kapoor, and industry sources say that this is a match made in heaven, as Shahid's humorous side has yet to be exploited.

Shahid has excelled in practically every genre over the course of his two-decade career, and he has shown promise in the comic realm as well, which is simply waiting to erupt with the proper subject. Anees Bazmee is also in talks with Varun Dhawan for a comedy, which might be the filmmaker's next project after the double role picture.
