Srimanthudu is 2015 Indian Telugu-language action drama movie directed by Koratala Siva and he also penned the script for the film. The myth of making this film belongs to Mythri Movie Makers and the presenter is G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment. This film’s cast includes Mahesh Babu, Shruti Haasan, Jagapati Babu, and Rajendra Prasad as main actors in the film. Sampath Raj, Mukesh Rishi, Sukanya and Harish Uthaman are in the movie as supporting cast members. Internationally it was released by Eros International.

The movie revolves around Harsha Vardhan (Mahesh Babu) – a young man, successful business tycoon Ravikanth (Jagapati Babu) rightful heir. Charuseela (Haasan) forces Harsha to go and learn about his and his father’s lineage in Devarakota village and, thus, he adopts the village and attempts to change lives of the village people and make improvements to the facilities in the village. Crimes are portrayed by Sashi, a local crime baron played by Sampath Raj, and his brother Venkata Ratnam, a politician portrayed by Mukesh Rishi, and the attempts of the Commissioner cum protagonist of the movie, Siddharth Jain with his tough and sincere efforts to curb this menace annoys him in particular.

Initially, Srimanthudu was planned with UTV Motion Pictures as the producers, but the company dropped the project stating differences with Siva. However, it must be noted that apart from the role of the director, Siva also penned the script for the movie. The music and the background score was provided by Devi Sri Prasad and the film’s cinematography was done by R. Madhi. Kiddaravada Gunawanarayana Raju produced the film while Kota.giri Venkateswara Rao was the editor. Production of Pelli was started on 11 August 2014 at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad. Principal photography started on 7 November 2014 in Pune and wrapped up by mid-June of 2015. Major part of the shootings were done in Hyderabad and some of the important sequences were shot in Tamil Nadu also few scenes were also shot in Malaysia.

Srimanthudu and Selvandhan, the Tamil dubbed version, were also released on 7 August 2015 in around 2500 screens across the world. This received positive response from critics and became commercial successful grossing over ₹ 140 crore worldwide on its make of ₹ 40 – 70 crore and ranked it the 3rd highest grossing Telugu film of all time. Post the movie release, dintactors, bureaucrats and politicians declared intentions to develop the backward villages and advocated the take up of villages In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film also fetched three more Nandi Awards including the Best Popular Feature Film and three Filmfare Awards South including the Best Telugu Actor for Mahesh Babu.
