As we all know that farming and agriculture both are an important occupation in our country and it makes to a huge part of the income of around 70 per cent of our populartion. There are various stories and struggles of the farmers which needs to be heard and appreciated by us. What can be a better way to understand this then film? 1. Do Bigha Zamin 

This film was released in 1953 and till now considered to be one of most prolific films of all times. It is based on the legendary Rabrinath Tagore's poem called 'Dui Bigha Jomi'. The plot shows the story of a farmer Shambhu whose livelhood depends on his farmland and due to certain circumstances he has to go to the city to collect Rs 235 to save his land from the zamindars. 

2. Manthan 

It is considered to be one of the most important films from the bollywood industry. What makes it special is that it is a crowd funded film where around 5 lakh farmers contributed Rs 2 each. The story is of farmers from Gujrat who are never paid their dues for the production of milk. 

3. Kadvi Hawa 

This film was released in 2017 and is one of the latest additions in the farmer's film list. Interesting right? The maker will leave you with a lot of thinking and overthinking. It shows the village of a blind farmer where farmer suicides are a everyday thing. Thye struggle a lot due to lack of rain in the village.

4. Peepli Live 

It is one of the best films in the genre which you can watch. It is the story of a man named Natha who declares his suicide due to lack of money to save his family and farm. Following this announcement is a lot of drama, politics and media news. 

5. Upkar 

It was released in 1967 and is a gem for the industry. The story is based on Jai Jawan Jai Kisaan slogan. It was immensely supported by the government and Prime Minister of India at that time. 

6. Gabricha Paus 

It is a film from the Marathi industry. It is based on a frequent and serious issue but it couldn't get the desired responses from the audience. 

7. Nero's Guest 

It is a documentary from 2009. A hard-hitting documentary covering the lives of farmers and how it is manipulated by different financial laws, governments and corporations for their own benefits.
