Neena Gupta is known for her outspoken and courageous attitude in the film industry, and has made a name for herself through her great performances. When they fell in love, both Indian and foreign media covered it extensively. Unfortunately, their love story could not last due to some reasons and cultural differences.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Neena Gupta responded to a question regarding something she wanted to go back and change by saying, "I would not have chosen to have a child outside of marriage. Every child deserves both of their parents. I was always honest with my daughter, Masaba, so our relationship was not altered, but I understand that she experienced some suffering". At the age of forty-two, Neena finally found romance with Vivek Mehra, a chartered accountant from Delhi, in 2008 and they got married.
