Why Tamannaah Bhatia Once Replaced Mouni Roy In A Film?

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother Shamas Nawab Siddiqui announced his feature directorial debut Bole Chudiyan in 2019. The film was produced by Rajesh Bhatia of Woodpecker Films. This romantic drama was much anticipated until it was stalled. Shamas had earlier helmed 2015 short film titled Miyan Kal Aana (Mister Come Tomorrow).
A source close to the production reveals, “The producer along with Shamas zeroed on Mouni Roy and the actress even started the reading sessions with the co-actors but due to her unprofessional attitude, she was asked to leave the project.”
“The actress used to come late in the meetings that got producer really irked with her,” source adds.
Later, Tamannaah Bhatia was roped in to play the love interest of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the makers even launched the teaser and a few songs from the film.
The fuel to fire was the creative differences between Shamas and producer Rajesh Bhatia, and the film was put on hold. It was also learned that there was a court scene which was to be shot with director-producer Anurag Kashyap, who plays a lawyer in the film wasn’t shot due to the tiff.
The fate of the film is still unclear but definitely it’s a big loss for Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who said yes to the film to break his image of a serious actor to a romantic hero.
Earlier, Nawazuddin tried hard to mould in films like Motichoor Chaknachoor with Athiya Shetty, Jogira Sara Ra Ra with Neha Sharma and Kangana Ranaut’s maiden production venture Tiku Weds Sheru opposite Avneet Kaur but all in vain.
Nawaz’s latest film Costao that released digitally opened to mixed reviews.
