Inspiring Success Story Of RNR Donne Biryani

success story

With careful preparation, a company may be successful. Ramya Ravi completed her research and created a solid business strategy based on her family's favourite food, donne biryani, prepared by their grandmother. With an investment of Rs 5 lakh, a single chef, and a few of helpers, Ramya and her sister Shweta launched RNR Donne Biryani from a 200 sq ft cloud kitchen in Bengaluru in November 2020.

RNR has grown to a turnover of Rs 8 crore in little over a year and a half, and is on track to reach Rs 10 crore by the end of March. Donne biryani is a mainstay of Karnataka's culinary tradition, but it is less well-known than other biryani variants prevalent across the country. They sold biryani as well as innovative meals like drumstick-chili appetisers, which proved famous.

Some famous dishes includes mutton bone hot soup, chicken ghee roast for appetisers, and elaneeru payasam or coconut payasam for dessert. Vegetable and chicken biryanis cost between Rs.189 and Rs.289, while mutton biryani costs Rs.320. Ramya comes from a restaurant-owning family, so she was well aware of the industry's devastation during the Covid shutdown in 2020. Simultaneously, she spotted a business opportunity in meal delivery as individuals began to order food from the comfort of their own homes.

She also believes that she may not have lost much in terms of visibility because most of Zomato and Swiggy users are the same. This in-depth knowledge of the sector has aided her in swiftly consolidating and expanding her brand. Ramya used social media to market her company and generate interest in RNR Donne Biryani. They reached out to millions of people by posting images and videos on Fb.

In the first month, RNR earned 10,000 orders, earning them the title of best new brand in 2020, according to Swiggy.
RNR Biryani has grown from a small kitchen in Naagarabhaavi to 14 cloud kitchens around Bengaluru. They built their first dine-in eatery in Jayanagar 4th Block in October of last year, investing Rs 65 lakh in the venture. Ramya was born and grew up in Bengaluru, and she has always wanted to start her own business. She graduated from Bengaluru's The Valley School in Class 10 in 2011 and Christ Junior College in Class 12 in 2013.

In 2016, she earned a bachelor's degree in commerce from Christ University.  She interned for Landmark Group, a retail firm, during her college years and attended Harvard for a three-month management course after graduation.

Ramya enjoys going on adventures, travelling, and dining out. She is a Bharatnatyam dancer with a passion for fitness.
