Ramdas Mane, founder of Pune-based Mane Group of Companies is one such name who not only achieved success but also respect and identity through their work. The annual turnover of his empire is around Rs 30 crore.

He wasn’t an inborn billionaire. Let’s read his inspiring story:

Ramdas was born in the small village of Satara, in Maharashtra. After his schooling wanted to study more but lacked financial support.

Finally, he got a job at the construction site and had to carry mud and unload it near the dam. It wasn’t easy for him to get that job on the condition to work as an adult. He worked for one and half months and was paid 2.25 paise per day.

Later, a graduate in his village advised him to join ITI in Pune. He attended classes in the daytime and worked at a canteen in the night and topped in his course.

He started a wireman apprenticeship at the company for Rs 100 per month. He used to share his one-room accommodations with another man.

For seven years, he continued to work for Mahindra and simultaneously did an evening course from IME.

In 1993, he was promoted to Deputy Manager but he soon resigned because of an argument with his boss. Later, he got an opportunity to work for Bajaj Electrical but had a waiting period of three months for the final interview in which he decided to do freelance.

Madras Beard Shell Ltd., along with Hyderabad and Bangalore plants approached him to build control panels and charged Rs 3 lakh per plant.

He finally registered Mane Electricals, a proprietorship firm in 1994.

He purchased land in Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation on a loan of 5 lakh and hired six people and set up an office.

At present, Mane Electricals has clients in 45 countries around the world. He has done over 350 complete EPs projects and has won the Limca record for making the biggest EPS machine in the world.
