She once bragged about her fees being higher than that of the then reigning queen. While it is not clear whether it was true, she has definitely changed her startegy since then. Bollywood prefers fresh faces to star in male oriented movies rather than expensive, established female stars. This senior actress has been shrewd to keep her fees low & just a tad bit above what newbies charge. This makes her an attractive proposition for producers, who are more than happy to have her onboard. Her affordability, coupled with her sizeable equity in terms of fan abse, thanks to her being around for so long makes it a win-win proposition.

A source insists that all the news stories about her charging a bomb are fake. They are all planted by her PR team. Her penchant for spending huge sums on PR is well known. The source adds that she spent a huge sum for publicizing her toddler son as well.

Most of her roles have been in male dominated movies, where the filmmaker could have easily have cast anyone else.
