A student named R Srimathi is enrolled in a private higher secondary school located in Chinna Salem, which is situated near Kallakurichi in Tamil Nadu. She is in 12th grade. On Tuesday night, she allegedly took her own life and left behind a note accusing two teachers of treating her unjustly, according to the authorities.

On Wednesday, the parents and relatives of R Srimathi, a student who allegedly committed suicide after accusing two teachers of mistreatment, blocked the Kallakurichi-Salem highway and verbally attacked the school administration, despite the teachers' denial of the allegations. The incident occurred near Kaniyamoor. According to reports, the girl's body was discovered on the ground by the dormitory building's security guard on Wednesday morning, and the school administrators were informed. The student was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead after the local police were notified.

In a note, the girl purportedly named two teachers who she claimed forced her and a few of her classmates to study non-stop while mistreating them. Kallakurichi SP S Selvakumar stated that the two teachers were taken to the police station for questioning. According to sources, the teachers allegedly told her to focus more and work harder because she was known to be playful.

As per the police, the school administration informed the girl's parents when she was taken to Kallakurichi Government Hospital. The parents, along with their relatives, arrived at the hospital. About 50 of the girl's family members held a protest on the Kallakurichi-Salem highway, demanding justice for her demise and accusing the school administration of pressuring her to take such an extreme step. The police dispersed the crowd after they had stormed the school and prevented teachers from entering the building. A case was registered under Section 174 of the CrPC, which deals with unnatural deaths.
