Jason Sanjay is the child of Vijay and Sangeeta Sornalingam, well-known South Indian actors. Jason also has a sister, Divya Shasha. Jason's maternal grandfather is a well-known director S.A. Chandrasekhar, and his maternal grandmother is Shoba. Jason entered films as a cameo appearance in the 2009 Tamil film Vettaikaaran, where he shared screen space with his father.
