Ponniyin Selvan 2: Trisha Krishnan's 'Kundavai' looks are going viral on internet

Ponniyin Selvan 2, the much-anticipated second installment of veteran movie director Mani Ratnam's much-loved film franchise, is now gearing up for a big release. The 1st part of the project, which is based on legendary writer Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel of the same name, hit the movie theatres in September 2022 and emerged as a huge box-office success. The creators of Ponniyin Selvan are now gearing up to kickstart the promotions for the second installment, and have been treating the fans with special videos on social media platforms.

The popular actress won the crowds with her performance as Princess Kundavai, in Ponniyin Selvan 1. During the first installment promotion, Trisha Krishnan disclosed that both she and the team members, including stylist Eka Lakhani tried around 50 different looks for the character Kundavai. Later, Mani Ratnam personally chose around ten of them for the film. Ponniyin Selvan's makers have now released a special video showing all of Trisha's looks from the movie.

 

Trisha Krishnan is seen in the clip wearing Princess Kundavai's signature top bun and side braid hairstyles, numerous colours of traditional silk outfits, and antique temple jewellery ornaments. The talented actress is purely ethereal as the Chola Dynasty's most intelligent princess, who played a significant role in her younger brother Arunmozhi Varman aka Raja Raja Chola's enormous rise to power.

 

Ponniyin Selvan 2 first single to be released soon

 

Towards the end of the Kundavai special video, the producers of Ponniyin Selvan 2 also affirmed that the project's first single, composed by AR Rahman, will be soon to be released. According to unconfirmed reports, the first single from Mani Ratnam's magnum opus will be the romantic melody 'Devi,' which will portray the poetic romance of Princess Kundavai and Vanthiyathevan, played by Karthi. Movie goers are now eagerly waiting for the return of the much-loved onscreen couple's magical chemistry to the big screen.
