Apart from hero and heroine, the role of villain also has its equal importance especially in South Indian movies. As much as the main lead's performance, the villainous characters also contribute a lot towards the success of a movie and are also responsible for the twists in the story line. So, here are a few top Tamil movie Villians in 2021.

Badri ( Kuruthipunal – Nassar )

Nassar

Arguably Tamil cinema’s favourite villain, Nassar exceeded expectations on every role he carried out. If we had to discuss about great actors like him it becomes quite impossible to mention what he has given to Tamil cinema, rather it's easy to say what he hasn't done yet! Despite having superstar's like Kamal Haasan, Arjun, Gouthami and Geetha being in pivotal roles. It was Badri the villain, the terrorist chief who made the audience flabbergasted and filled their hearts with hatred. Having no doubt, this character will also remain as the best villain roles in Tamil cinema.

Ali Bhai (Prakash Raj-Pokkiri)

Prakash raj

Actor Prakash Raj is one the most talented and well known faces in the South Indian film industry as he stars in all the four regional languages —Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. He is one of the highest paid antagonists in South India.

Pokkiri is the remake of a Telugu superhit movie Pokiri with Mahesh Babu as the lead. In this film Prakash Raj essayed the role of Moeen Ali alias Ali Bhai who is a badass mafia lord. Prakash Raj was highly appreciated by many and it did improve his star status as an antagonist.

Eswari (Shriya Reddy- Thimiru)

Shriya reddy

Shriya Reddy kick started her career as a Video Jockey and was successful at SS Music. Later she became a well known actress by doing films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages. Her role of Eswari in Thimiru was remarkable. She essayed the role of an arrogant Madurai based gangster and did complete justice to the character. Her local slang and Madurai girl make-over added flavour to her character. The movie was a commercial hit at the box office and Shriya Reddy was lauded for her performance.

Nilambari (Ramya Krishnan – Padayappa )

Neelambari

Ramya Krishnan's role in Padayappa as Neelambari is one of the most celebrated roles of Tamil Cinema. Neelambari was showcased with pride and vengeance and the actress has been successfully in adoring the character as she brought them in her looks and husky voice. She is one of the greatest lady rivals Rajinikanth has ever faced in Padayappa movie. Her wicked nature doesn’t surface until she discovers that Padayappa is not in love with her, and her father dies of shame.

Muthupandi (Prakash Raj- Ghilli)

Prakash raj

Prakash Raj is a diverse artist, who fits perfectly into any role be it a hero/ villain, father, Grandfather what not? He has a very good experience as an antagonist in many movies of different languages. No hero or villain can beat him in villanism. For the first time in Tamil cinema Prakash Raj played the antagonist in Ghilli, which is the Tamil remake of Telugu film Okkadu. He was seen in the role of (MuthuPandi) a goon, with a sense of humour and brutality. The movie starred Vijay Thalapathy and actress Trisha in lead roles.

Victor (Arun Vijay- Yennai Arindhaal)

Victor

Arjun Vijay has been in the industry for a while, but he hasn't tasted huge success, despite being the son of a veteran actor. However after Yennai Arindhaal released, people noticed his talent as a villain. He played a foe opposite Ajith, who suited the role well with his fierce performance and stylish mannerisms portrayed greatness on-screen which turned out to be a turning point in his career.

Sornakka (Telangana Shakuntala – Dhool)

Telangana Shakuntala

Just like Padayappa is incomplete without Neelambari, Dhool is deficient without Sornakka character. Played by telugu famous comic-lady villain Telangana Shakuntala, who played the role of a Corrupt, badass local goon without a moral bone in her body, Sornakka meant business. She gave her career-best performance in this film.
