The History of Lawn Tennis
A lot of skill and years of training are required for the complex and physically demanding sport of lawn tennis. The timeless charm of tennis is embodied by watching two players battle it out on the court while sipping high tea and munching on sandwiches. Beyond its current renown, lawn tennis has a long history dating back to antiquity.

Initial Steps
Tennis may have begun in Ancient Egypt, according to historians, who also claim that the name "racket" comes from the Arabic word "rakhat," which means "palm." On the other hand, the conventional wisdom holds that tennis was invented by French monks in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. The first lawn tennis club was established in 1872, marking the start of the modern age of tennis. Wellesley Tomkins and Frederick Haynes, two physicians, and Portuguese merchant Hoa Pereira created the original regulations.

Clopton, Walter Wingfield's Input
Lawn tennis rules were formalized in 1873 by a British army colonel named Walter Clopton Wingfield. The original name of Wingfield's game was "tennis on the green," although it developed from popular English and Greek sports. Tennis started to become increasingly profitable by the 1920s, and as a result, the United States Lawn Tennis Association (USTA) was founded in 1991, standardizing tournament protocols and rules.

Growth and Oversight Organizations
The global growth of the sport has been greatly aided by the Lawn Tennis Association in England and the All India Tennis Association (AITA) in India. The Indian Tennis Federation (AITA) was established in 1920.

Lawn Tennis Equipment and the size of the Court
Tennis racquets, balls, and specific bags are among the equipment needed. Courts are precisely measured, and rules guarantee competitive spirit and fair play. The top players in the sport compete in major tournaments like the Grand Slams, which are scored using a special system of games, sets, and points.

Renowned athletes and worldwide recognition
Tennis is a highly regarded sport around the world because it combines athletic skills with a rich cultural heritage. Notable players who have contributed to this position include Roger Federer, Serena Williams, and Indian icons like Leander Paes and Sania Mirza.
