Apple is developing an iPad dock that will transform it into a smart home hub and speaker. It will resemble an Amazon Echo-like device that can be placed on your kitchen counter or nightstand. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the company may launch it as early as next year.

An iPad docking station could allow users to make FaceTime calls and control smart home devices hands-free.

As previously stated, it will be similar to the Amazon Fire tablet in that users can place the devices in a charging dock to transform them into a smart display. According to Gurman, this device will be available in 2023.

Google announced last week a docking accessory for its upcoming Pixel Tablet that will function as the Nest Hub Max to control smart home devices via the Home app.

Apple is expected to release the iPad Pro soon, with 11-inch and 12.9-inch models and an M2 Silicon chip.

According to the report, Apple is also working on an updated version of the HomePod. The next generation of HomePod could include an updated display, a S8 chip, and multitouch capabilities. The company is also working on a device that combines an Apple TV and a smart speaker with a camera.

Apple recently announced a partnership with Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology (SMT), which could lead to the company using hybrid OLED displays in the iPad Pro by 2024.

The display on the iPad and iPad Pro is an important part of the user experience.

Gurman revealed last year that Apple is working on a device that will combine Apple TV, a smart speaker device, and a camera. This device could be released this year by the company.
