Top 10 Bollywood Movies Of 2013
Movies are like magic. A movie can change your who mood. So this article is going to mention some amazing movies, which are worth watching.
Here Are The List Of Top 10 Bollywood Movies Of 2013
1. Lootera
Lootera is without a doubt the best on this list; this is a film that Bollywood can proudly show off for several decades. It is very slow moving, but this romantic drama about Pakhi and Varun Srivastava is filled with a certain nostalgic feel. Not a single word in the movie is without meaning and both the suspense of silence and the shocking acting skills of each and every actor especially a newcomer Sonakshi Sinha who takes the movie to an all new level will leave you speechless. There is no way about it – theme, characters, development, the whole film does entire justice to the short story on which the plot is based, namely O. Henry’s ‘The Last Leaf’. By situating his film in the early 50s, Motwane smoothly moves the film from Manikpur to Dalhousie, I felt a flutter every time Ranveer and Sonakshi were on screen together. Whether it is the work behind the camera, the tempo of the movie, the spots or the appearance – ‘Lootera’ is perfect with all of it.
2. The Lunchbox
It is a wonderful and very believable story about a middle-aged man and a housewife two of whom get together to find friendship, solace and something like love that they both lack in their lives. Lunchbox as the cupid also has equal importance in the movie as the two leading characters. Indeed, the scenes are suggestive, and when one thing is left unsaid, a thousand can be said. Now Irrfan Khan with his experience fits the character of Saajan Fernandez to the T and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Shaikh reaches the peak of being endearing. Nimrat Kaur is a discovery about whom one cannot help harboring certain feelings. The subtle things that the character clings on to all through the movie differentiate her acting. When you can mock around as if no one is around then who cares if your legs are not as attractive as Deepika’s. This is another teasing film that will warm your hearts.
3. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Monumental actor of today and one of the best current talents Farhan Akhtar and the preeminent maestro of cinema Rakeysh OM Prakash Mehra came together to offer one of the valued films of Bollywood. Hence with its success the BMB has forced an entry into the list of the most interesting biopics of all ages. In BMB, BMB explained how the nation betrayed probably its most illustrious sportsman using the story of ‘The Flying Sikh’ Milkha Singh. Farhan Akhtar toned himself mentally and physically for Milkha on the silver screen and his dedication was not concealed. Never for once was there the feeling that the long duration being accorded to the movie was a drawback. Off course cinematically and screenplay Outstanding, Every one in the film has done an outstanding job and yes Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is the most inspiring film we have seen in a long time.
4. Kai Po Che
Filmed on the success formula of Chetan Bhagat’s ‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’, ‘Kai Po Che’ was a well-scripted film about a group of three best friends venture into opening a sports academy and a shop. It traces their friendship as it develops only to be severed by some religious incidences. Riding on excellent acting by the three main actors, this emotional film sucked the tears out of the viewers of movies. It was a very intelligent approach the director has taken to showcase how dreams, ambition, and camaraderie transform and start fading due to the seeds of communalism sown in the hearts of people, the movie was a very serious try.
5. Ram Leela
The melodious soundtrack and Bhansali’s style has been back after a long time and there cannot be a better film it could have made its return with. Some of the finest costumes and enormous set designs literally changed the connotations of opulence. The visuals were never used to shift the focus from the performances or the storyline for that matter. Ram and Leela find themselves face to face and after a brief eye contact they lose control and share a passionate kiss and here starts the ‘goliyon ki raas-leela’. It was extremely atypical to observe such passion in the novel! They are serious – in the bedroom, as well as in warfare. Leela was played by Deepika Padukone and she was quite explosive, while Ranveer Singh took our bar of expectation to a new high. This music becomes more and more appealing, and it brings one back to the era that is as dangerous as it is magical, where Rajadis and Saneras could be feuding for blood.
6. Madras Café
This is one of the most unrecognized Hindi movie of the year 2013; despite it did not enter 100 Crore club, yet it has left the impression on the mind of the viewer who has watched it. Unlike the common thrillers of the South Indian style, this movie is based on Srilankan civil war and has a very close connection with Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination. John Abraham especially gave this movie his all like he has never done before. This is quite a daring and audacious effort that narrates the film’s plot in a totally clinical fashion that never raises the suspense of the compact one iota. The action in the film does not deviate from its theme in the beginning and hence one cannot provoke senseless humor from it. The dramatic flow can occasionally deviate from the true-life story and yet, it has to be one of the most realistic movies watched in the year 2013 .
7. Raanjhanaa
Especially worth to mention is this modern love story of a Hindu Tamil priest and a Muslim girl. After making the whole nation dance to the tunes of ‘Kolaveri Di’, Dhanush showed that he is also a fine actor through ‘Raanjhanaa’. His outstanding performance particularly as one-sided lover crazy about Sonam Kapoor was appreciated by every movie fan. The cast of the movie delivered what could be considered as one of the best and energetic performances of the year both the leads and the supporting characters and the script was also great. Politics gave the hero a nice dimension and the second half of this film was fantastic. His character was as fascinating as it was irritating because of eagerness of Kundan to win over the lady. In the capacity of the girl who just cannot bring herself to love the hero, Sonam Kapoor was much better than her previous movies, and A. R. Rehman’s music elevated the movie further. Done with a commendable ease and elegance by director, comes out Raanjhanaa in the list of best Bollywood films of 2013.
8. Shahid
This Hansal Mehta movie, based on the life of the assassinated lawyer and human rights activist, Shahid Azmi, was one of the meaningful movies of 2013. Raj Kumar Yadav proved his talent by an excellent dance performance and the methodology of weaving a play of cricket match was well appreciated by the audiences as they watched the play silently when it was over. This took the critics right to hailing it a masterpiece. Thus, although ‘Shahid’ is not one of those movies that earned a million dollars in 2013, it is certainly one of the most popular movies of this year.
9. Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani
While there are films that touch the ;soul’ and there are movies which just ;feel good.’ Despite being replete with cliché sequences and incidents, the theme of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani in which the hero does not want to get tied down to one place, one job or one woman did hold the attention and could be said to have appealed to the younger generation. Perhaps it is not a work that makes one contemplate on matters of life but then it never claimed to be one. Through the trailers, YJHD produced what had been expected, that is, entertainment, fun and some music that can make one get off the seat. In aspects of the movie, this one had just the right doze of drama, emotions, substance, and humor that was needed. Besides, it Is laudable that most of the cast has delivered their best act, especially Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur.
10. Aashiqui 2
The audience would have expected that ‘Aashiqui 2’ would be another poor sequel since Aditya Roy Kapur and Shradhha Kapoor did not have great movies to their portfolio. But the film left the audiences more than impressed. The music was already popular among the crowd and to this date it dominates the lists of Chart busters of 2013. While Shradhha Kapoor, the film’s leading lady, looked drop-dead gorgeous as the middle class girl overwhelmed by her feelings, capped by her splendid performance. Aditya Roy Kapur may have played the role of the angry young man in his latest flick Aashiqui 2 but his shirtless act as the alcoholic lover woke up the ‘eye- doll’ factor of Aditya Roy Kapur and placed him in the list of the hottest guys in Bollywood. Never at any point of time did Mohit Suri’s style of story telling allowed this heard before romance to turn excessive.
