Top 10 Tamil Movie Villain Actors In 2024

1. Raghuvaran:

Raghuvaran

Raghuvaran is one of those actors who has given us numerous unforgettable negative roles. Choosing one is difficult, especially when there are movies like Badsha, Mudhalvan, Poo Vizhivasalile, and Kadhalan. However, Puriyatha Pudhiru is notable for his powerful depiction of a guy who continued torturing his wife physically and psychologically without obvious cause. This could be considered the first job that made Raghuvaran a well-known full-time villain in Kollywood.

2. Mansoor Ali Khan:

For the generation that grew up when sandalwood smuggler Veerappan was still prowling the forests of Sathyamangalam, Mansoor Ali Khan’s character was the reference point of how Veerappan would appear (until Nakkeeran Gopalan came along). Easily the best work of Mansoor Ali Khan to date. Why a villain with so much promise isn't shown on the big screen more frequently begs the question.

3. Ramya Krishnan:

This is as good as it gets, the woman in a league of bad mean men. Not many actresses get the chance to play a villain in Tamil cinema, but Ramya Krishnan seized the chance and gave it her all. If we said that Padayappa is more known for Neelambari than for anything else, most people would probably agree. The manic desire to get the man of her dreams and the fury when it does not happen were brought out with never-before-seen intensity.

4. Prakash Raj:

It is difficult to find words to describe this performance; anyone who has seen the movie will know. A part so gruesome, a figure so calculating and cold, and a performance that left everyone writhing in their seats. Rarely do all factors come together as perfectly as they did for this one. Undoubtedly one of Tamil cinema’s most chilling negative roles. Shouldn’t we see more such roles?

5. Sathyaraj:

This was the pinnacle of Sathyaraj's journey into negative roles, and it happened a little after he began playing good characters. Amaidhipadai relived all of his iconic villainous roles from the past. To the delight of the audience, he repeated again all those memorable one-liners that he had used over the years—lines that aren't typically associated with villains. It was also, of course, a very engaging portrait of a naxalite.

6. Nasser:

This was villainy that was a result of a feud of generations. It was full of carefully thought-out maneuvers meant to startle the other instead of the typical outright assaults or in-your-face taunts. Two local leaders' rivalry was the cause of the looting and killing of people. In his role as the adversarial side of this rivalry, Nasser gave an almost flawless portrayal of a "hurt the other at any cost" zamindar.

7. Rajnikanth:

One of Superstar’s performances with huge recall value, we still remember the ‘Idhu eppadi irukku’ one-liner. A power-packed performance of an absolutely ruthless brat who derived sadistic pleasure from taunting and troubling helpless villagers. The darker side of the character is shown in the last reels, while initially we assume that she is merely a harmless loudmouth with an attitude problem.

8. Veerappa:

He is remembered best for inflicting pain and torture on M.G.R in many movies.Even now, memories of the phrase "Manandhal Mahadevi, illayendral Maranadevi" evoke melancholy. His remarkable vocals and powerful delivery leave a lasting impression. Recall the famous statement from Vanjikkottai Valibhan, "Sabash, sariyana potti," which is synonymous with Tamil cinema.

9. Ajith Kumar:

Before Vaali came along, we had no idea that Ajith could be that passionate. As the devilish brother of the good Ajith, he made us cringe even as our sympathies went out to Simran and her husband. It's important to remember that Ajith, the villain, mostly communicated with his eyes rather than his mouth. It makes sense that Vaali is still proudly recalled by Ajith fans as one of their favorite Thalas.

10. M.N. Nambiar:

Tamil cinema’s legendary bad man. His roles opposite MGR are still remembered as Tamil cinema’s most fiery moments and ‘Naan aanai ittal’ as the most adrenaline-pumping song of all time. The excitement felt when M.G.R finally hits back is a result of how strongly the villain was portrayed by Nambiar.
