Alia-Ranbir, Sushant-Sara-Kartik, Kiara-Sid-Tara – PR Gimmicks Of Bollywood Celebs

Bollywood celebs go to all extents to uplift their public image. Be it hiding a controversial misdoings or promoting fake relationship to hype up upcoming films- they ensure these all and much more. And the credit for this goes entirely to their PR management team. The PR team ensures to cover up for the celebs in case they forget to pay their taxes or if they get into public fights.

In the recent times the PR teams of young actors are very busy in projecting their clients in good light. Take for example the recent developments in Sara Ali Khan’s life. While shooting for Kedarnath, the air was filled with rumours of her dating Sushant Singh Rajput. No sooner did the movie released than the rumours fizzled out. This was a carefully planned marketing strategy. Public are drawn more into the theatres if the leads share a real bond off screen. Gossip sells.

Sara blatantly stated that she would like to date Kartik Aryaan on Koffee With Karan. Hardly had she finished saying this than she landed up a role with Kartik featuring opposite her. Pre production of a movie takes a lot of time just as does its production. So, there pops up a movie out of thin air which befits both Kartik and Sara at the same time and both give a nod to the film and viola! Sara’s wish has just come true. That’s not how it works.Bollywood is no La La Land where all wishes come true. Truth is everything in the film industry goes by a script even after the director says cut. Everything is prewritten, pre-decided. Sara well knew that she and Kartik will be doing a movie together and it was purely intentional to spurt out Kartik’s name on the show. As expected the audience reacted positively. On social media, people expressed their wish to see Sara and Kartik as a couple on screen. And just as Sara found a wish granting genie, so did the hundreds of thousands of common Bolly lovers.
Something same happened with hottie Sidharth Malhotra as well. During the shooting of A Gentlemen rumours started doing rounds that he was dating co star Jacqueline Fernandez. Around the same time, he was also dating Alia Bhatt. And the reported closeness with Jacqueline ultimately resulted in breaking up with Alia. The rumours were around for quite some time, given the fact that Sid didn’t score much at the box office and that was the only way to somewhat ensure an iota of limelight on him but then they died a natural death. Now, he is linked up with Kiara Advani with whom he will be seen next in a movie called ‘Shershaah’. Though he has not admitted to be dating Kiara in his appearance on Koffee With Karan, we believe it’s just a matter of time that he did. The rumours will intensify around the time of the release of the film and then they will lie stagnant for a while before disappearing. The actors were seen going on a bike ride during the shoot. And did we say that the same rumours are also doing rounds for Kiara and Shahid Kapoor? Kiara will be seen with Shahid in Kabir Singh. These PR gimmicks are simply transparent and one can see through them.
Even the Alia-Ranbir relationship. Alia might go all the way to profess her love for Ranbir at an award show but deep down we know what it is. Now, Brahmāstra is a big project- Ayan Mukherji is said to have invested more than a decade in creating the Brahmāstra universe. The movie is to be a superhero trilogy. It features the biggest of Bollywood stars- Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan- and has some heavy uses of VFX and other related technologies. Surely one would not like such intensive efforts and investments to go waste. So in order to ensure success, Ranbir and Alia’s PR management decided to make them look like a couple. They often feed the rumours and add fuel to the fire.
As we said, everything is prewritten. The PR team decides the story and writes it down. And actors? Well, actors do what they do best – act. Everything’s a farce in Bollywood.
