Twitter went berserk after the De De Pyaar de trailer featuring Alok Nath released last week. Meanwhile, the Modi biopic starring Vivek Oberoi got a release date
The #Me Too campaign turned out to be a one of a kind event inviting a number of top female names who joined a common cause aimed at fighting men who were guilty of abusing women. Alok Nath, the ideal father of Bollywood turned out to be quite an irony in this regard. With severe allegations of rape and molestation, this man had been accused of considering women a commodity and disrespecting their existence too.
This is why there has been quite a justifiable outrage out there after watching actor Alok Nath as the part of the star cast in the trailer for the film De De Pyaar De. Alok Nath is accused of rape but, is currently released on bail under an on-going court case. When the film producer, Luv Ranjan asked to comment on this serious issue connected with trailer launch of 2nd April, Ajay Devgn, the leading man of the film did intervene in the middle saying, “This is not the right place to talk about it.” Following his comment, he mentioned that the film’s shooting was already completed before the allegations surfaced on the actor.
The online outrage mainly targeted Ajay Devgn as his fans expressed a lot of disappointment for this launch. It has hardly been six months when Ajay came out in support of the #MeToo movement sharing his Tweet,
I’m disturbed by all the happenings with regards to #MeToo. My company and I believe in providing women with utmost respect and safety. If anyone has wronged even a single woman, neither ADF nor I will stand for it.
The trailer has rekindled such a rage; let’s see whether the film finds support of the Ajay Devgan fan club.
Another top story making the headlines is the much awaited release of the biopic on PM Narendra Modi. Initially the film starring Vivek Oberoi was set to be released on April 5th. However, it got delayed due to the complaint lodged by the opposition in respect of “code of conduct infringements” just before the elections. In fact, the Election Commission did intervene in the matter leaving the last decision on the shoulders of the Bollywood film controlling bodies.
Seeds have ripened and the released of this epic biopic on PM Narendra Modi is all set to release on April 11 – i.e. the first date of polling. The movie, PM Narendra Modi is based on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his struggle with his political and personal life that tuned him to become a person who he is today.
The official tweet of the film stated, “When he speaks, the world listens,” the tweet read. “Get ready to know the journey of #PMNarendraModi, now releasing April 11.” Turning down the urgent listing plea in Supreme Court for the stay on this biopic on the prime minister, Supreme Court’s bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said, “What biopic? We have not seen it. Perhaps we will watch it over the weekend, then you mention.”
There are a lot of expectations from this film and it’s expected to fulfill all of these.
