Early Life and Education
Sweety was born in Delhi, India, on March 15, 1992. She comes from a family with a history of service to the public. She was good at studies from her childhood and had a well-disciplined attitude towards her aims. She graduated with a degree of B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from Delhi Technological University (DTU).
Upon completing her education, she joined the corporate world as a design engineer. However, a dramatic incident changed her life entirely. The sudden death of her father made her think of achieving his dream, which was to see her as an officer of civil services.
Family and Personal Life
Sweety Sehrawat belongs to a close-knit family that has always valued discipline and service to the nation. Her father, who was a Head Constable with Delhi Police, was instrumental in fulfilling her ambitions till his demise. Kamlesh, her mother, supported her in passing the UPSC examinations with unwavering encouragement during difficult phases. Her sibling, Harish Sehrawat, is a Sub-Inspector with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) following the family’s legacy of serving the nation. Sweety is married to Dhruv Aarav and manages to balance her busy work life and personal happenings. UPSC Success and IPS Career: It indeed took a lot of courage on the part of Sweety to leave behind a stable job and face one of the toughest competitive exams of India.
She focused on preparing with proper discipline, followed by a well-planned strategy with a timetable, revisions, mock tests, and guidance from experienced people. All these resulted in attaining AIR 187 in the UPSC examination of 2019 and getting through the Indian Police Service. She started her career in law enforcement with the designation of Assistant Superintendent of Police in Aurangabad district of Bihar, where she effectively achieved law and order-related goals as a major focus area along with initiatives of community policing. Her ability to stay composed while taking decisions and exuding a leadership aura helped her gain respect from her colleagues and the people. In 2024, she was given the high post of Superintendent of Police (SP) Patna Central, which is one of the most important assignments of policing in Bihar.
