Tere Ishk Mein is a Hindi romantic drama film directed by Aanand L. Rai and stars Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. The film was released in theatres on 28 November 2025 and is currently available for streaming. Written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, the film’s music is composed by the legendary A. R. Rahman. Overall, it seems to be the much-anticipated project by Aanand L. Rai, as it is believed to be the sequel to Raanjhanaa featuring Dhanush in the lead role.
The film stars actor Dhanush as the protagonist Shankar, with Kriti Sanon playing the role of the love interest, Mukti. Moreover, the film also stars Priyanshu Painyuli, Prakash Raj, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Paramvir Cheema, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, etc. Together, these actors create a great onscreen chemistry and complement each other’s performances.
Story
Set in an alternate universe, the film narrates the story of the doomed love affair between Shankar and Mukti. The two come close to each other when the latter begins her PhD research on the former. However, with time, Mukti breaks up with Shankar and moves on with her life.
Shankar, unable to cope with the cruel reality, joins the Indian Air Force. Decades later, the two meet again, which leads to an entirely different turn of events in their relationship.
Songs and Music
One of the best things about the film is its music composed by the legendary A. R. Rahman. He has composed all nine songs, which have been written by Irshad Kamil. Some of the popular tracks include “Tere Ishk Mein”, “Usey Kehna”, “Aawaara Angaara”, “Deewaana Deewaana”, “Tere Zikr Mein”, “Jigar Thanda”, “Ladki Jaisi”, “Chinnaware”, “Jigar Thanda (Female)”.
Interestingly, the title track has been sung by Rahman and Arijit Singh, which was one of the most anticipated music videos of the year. Moreover, the other songs such as ”Usey Kehn” and “Aawaara Angaara” were also massive hits.
My Views
To me, the best part about the film is its great star cast, led by Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. The two actors create such a great onscreen chemistry that makes you fall in love with every aspect of the film. Moreover, Rahman’s music has also made the film more watchable, as his songs have added more depth to the film. Apart from music, I also liked the film’s story that revolves around the doomed relationship between Shankar and Mukti. For me, the film is the perfect treat for anyone who loves a good romance drama featuring some great stars, an intriguing plot, and fabulous music. Therefore, it is safe to say that Tere Ishk Mein is a must-watch film for me, which offers the perfect blend of Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s chemistry and Aanand L. Rai’s brilliant direction and music by Rahman.
