In the case of Zepto, which has seen great success thus far, the stage has primarily been set by the young founders Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra. But what has caught the eye of many in recent years is another name behind the very successful quick commerce company: that of Kavit Palicha. A finance professional, investor, and mentor, Kavit is also the father of founder Aadit Palicha and has been a part of the Zepto picture from the very early stages. His background in finance and investment has made him a key player behind the company’s growth.
Kavit Palicha has had a career in finance, investment management, and wealth-related services. In published reports, he studied Math and Computer Science at the University of Mumbai; at the time, he was also beginning his professional career in the financial field. Early education for him was in math and computer science, which provided a strong analytical background, and what followed in his career developed his knowledge of the markets, investments, and financial strategy.
In his professional journey, which took him to Dubai, he expanded his experience in the international financial industry. He worked with Rasmal and then joined Bank J. Safra Sarasin Ltd., a private banking institution. Through the years in banking, he worked in fields related to investment and wealth management and eventually rose to a senior level. He also studied at London Business School, which added to his business and investment knowledge in his professional background.

Kavi’s expertise is in many areas of finance. This includes portfolio management, capital markets, financial structuring, equities, foreign exchange options, wealth management, mutual funds and derivatives. His wide range of professional experience also gave him a hand in the evaluation of financial opportunities, analysis of risk, and development of long-term investment strategies.
In 2020, Kavit took on the role of Investment Director at the Jafar Family Office. Through 2020- 2024, which is as far as published reports go, he was with that family office. In that capacity, he was very much a part of the investment strategy, portfolio decisions, and wealth management processes.
Getting out of the grocery run for what we need done quickly has become a challenge. The founders took that issue and turned it into a tech-based quick commerce business.
In 2021, Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra established Zepto. At the time, the company drew great attention for the founders’ young age and its ambitious goal of very fast grocery delivery. For growth, they required not only technical innovation but also large-scale financial planning, fundraising, and capital management.
This is what Kavit brought to the professional table. Also, he has stayed out of the public eye, which means he didn’t position himself as a co-founder or executive face of Zepto. In published profiles, he is described as an investor, a stakeholder, and a source of financial guidance related to the company’s journey.

Kavitt’s case is different from that of the average startup founder. He is best looked at through the lens of financial background, mentoring, and investment know-how. In the build-out of a high-growth company, which includes decisions on fundraising, spending, expansion, and risk, he has great experience in that, which is what we see in his career.
At present, in the debate around Zepto, what is brought forward is the value that established financial networks add to young entrepreneurs. Also, we see in the public discussion that Kavit’s professional connections and financial background come to light, which in turn play a role in how Zepto’s founders did in securing investment and capital at the early stage.
Rather, in the larger picture, which doesn’t reduce Zepto’s success to one man’s achievement, we see in Kavit Palicha’s role just one piece of the puzzle, which includes the founders, employees, investors, and the larger quick commerce ecosystem. Aadit and Kaivalya put together the company’s go-to-market strategy and business model, and at the same time served as professional financial advisors who mentored the young founding team through the complex issues of capital and growth.
By 2026, Kavit Palicha is still a very private person as compared to the very public founders of Zepto. Also, his story is a unique look at the players who shaped the success of those startups, who may not be known to the public.
In his biography, it is told how finance and entrepreneurship go hand in hand. From math and computer science studies to international finance, private banking, and investment management roles, Kavit built a career out of money, markets, and risk. With Zepto, he added another chapter to that story.
The story of Zepto is in fact beyond just very fast grocery delivery. Also in that is the story of us as a business, which grew out of a seen void in the market; we identified that need and built a business around it, and put in place the financial structure that supports our rapid growth. In that bigger picture is Kavit Palicha, who is the other side of the entrepreneurship coin: the mentor, the investor, and the financial expert who steps into the background while a new set of founders take the front stage.
