Salaam Venky is all set to hit cinemas on December 9. Kajol first turned down the role in Revathy's Salaam Venky because she felt uneasy acting in a movie where her kids are negatively affected.

I turned down this movie for three days. I didn't want to work on a movie where something bad happened to my kids. It's too much for me to manage, and I don't want to. Revathy then instructed me to give it some thought. The 48-year-old actress proceeded, "And finally I agreed to make the film.

On November 14, Salaam Venky's trailer was unveiled in Mumbai. Kajol portrays a mother in the movie whose son's health is fast declining. In Salaam Venky, directed by Revathy, Kajol and Vishal Jethwa play a mother and son team. Rahul Bose, Rajeev Khandelwal, Prakash Raj, and Aamir Khan are also included in the movie.

Revathy responded, "When you are a mother or daughter, the feelings that appear on screen are different because you have learned so much," when asked how she was able to convince Kajol to join the project. And you have empathy for the component of your body (your child) that is external. You can't help but experience what that individual is experiencing. And I required someone of that caliber. And that's when I started to think of Kajol.

Revathy described the casting of the other performers, saying that Rahul Bose and Rajeev Khandelwal were kind enough to participate in this movie. The way Vishal Jethwa responded to writer Sameer Arora's narrative gave the filmmaker the confidence that he was the ideal choice to play Venky. According to Revathy, "Vishal has a wonderful relationship with his real mother, and I needed it in the character.

The Last Hurrah by Shrikant Murthy served as the inspiration for the Salaam Venky narrative. When describing her experience with the book, Revathy said, "I first picked it up in 2007. I worked on two to three distinct draughts because I believed the book needed to tell its story. But because of individuals, things didn't work out because people didn’t believe in making a story like this. By 2011, I gave up”.

"I was able to re-access the book in 2017 thanks to Suraj Singh. I said, "No, don't read this book again." since I had worked on it for three to four years. However, since 2018, everything has started to come together. I heard the opinion of our author Sameer Arora regarding the book. That got me," she continued.
