Since December 2018, Bollywood has been all about larger-than-life weddings. After Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh at Lake Como, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas made things official in Jodhpur, and now rumours have it that Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora may be all set to tie the knot. The duo has officially confirmed their relationship and their numerous outings and dinner dates over the past few months has grabbed the world’s attention.

Malaika’s father nil Arora is Punjabi and other Joyce Polycarp is Malayali Catholic, reports state that the actress may be planning a Christian wedding with Kapoor. It comes with no surprise that Malaika would prefer a white wedding. Back in 2009, her sister Amrita Arora Ladak too said ‘I do’ to husband Shakeel Ladak in a Christian ceremony. The couple is also reported to have bought an apartment together in Mumbai’s upscale Lokhandwala area in Andheri.

Arjun Kapoor while sharing the couch with Janhvi Kapoor on season 6 of ‘Koffee with Karan’ admitted to being in a relationship and also revealed that he may now be open to getting married. One of the episodes of the talk show also had Malaika Arora chatting with Karan Johar, and one of the most talked moments was when Malaika was asked about Kapoor’s performance on the show. Her answer was, ‘I like Arjun Kapoor – this way or that way.’

She also opened up about her previous marriage and divorce with Arbaaz Khan on a radio show ‘What Women Want’, where she was interviewed by none other than close friend Kareena Kapoor Khan. When asked about love after divorce, Malaika’s response was simple. She said, ‘I think all women should jump back into it with equal gusto. Have fun, enjoy it. I think for the first time in your life, you will also kind of discover a sense of freedom.’

There was a rumour of Arjun and Malaika to get married in April 2019. And even when April passed by, the rumours of them getting married last year didn’t die down. Arjun Kapoor finally dismissed the wedding rumours and said firmly that he isn’t getting married. He said, ‘If I am getting married I will speak about it openly. There is no reason for me to hide it. It is not something I can hide from people. If I am not hiding anything now, then why will I hide my marriage?’

‘I am working now; I am not in the zone to get married, I don’t care about what the world has to say, I think jumping the gun is silly.’ Arjun told PTI. He says he is aware of the constant public scrutiny on his personal life but that doesn’t bother him much. ‘Even if I say something, it is not necessary that people will stop writing. Speculation is a part of this profession. I have signed up for it and it comes with the territory. My personal life is not personal, it is public.’

When Malaika was asked about the wedding rumours, she said that she never answers a personal question not because she is shy or whatever but she doesn’t feel comfortable talking about her personal life. She also stated that everyone is aware of her life and that she doesn’t need to talk about it. Malaika added that she is just enjoying her life and that it’s beautiful and precious.

Malaika and Arjun have been spotted together now and then. They were seen attending the Lakme Fashion Week, and interestingly, both were photographed sitting side by side at one of the shows of the event. Later, they were also seen arriving in the same car for Sandeep Khosla’s private bash.

Arjun and Malaika have reportedly been dating each other for a while now. They make a promising and cute couple. It won’t be the wrong decision to get married now. But it seems like both of them are busy with their work and are not into the zone of getting married. The year still has nine months and we never know if the couple gets married this year. Many of the couples in Bollywood have surprised us with their sudden wedding decisions.
